If you check at least Wikipedia, the name is Cap-Haitien International Airport, It is International since 1983 around the time the POPE was in Haiti. PAP and CAP are so far the 2 Internationals Aiport. Beside Les Cayes and Jacmel, All the rest of the Airport are not paved, meaning the landing area is in dirt, soon most of them will be upgrade.

When corruption effectively affects the chances of the common people for a better life, in the form of missed investment, education, job creation, etc, then we are talking about a serious issue. Of course there are corruption scandals in the US, Japan, Europe, but these in the long term do not affect people's chances for a better life. That IS NOT the case oh Haiti, or to much lesser extent, the DR.Take a look at this video of the airport being modernized...how long did it take to become true?

Sweetie, for a German I suppose, playing dumb or pretending "you didn't know or it isn't your problem" is sad. But I do care since it's MY people they are messing with. Maybe I should not worry so much, since history is the BEST teacher and when it comes to your darlings, the lessons we taught them are clear and standing tall to this day, and so will forever.

We are! A group of Haitians are currently working on an organization so to mobilize diasporic Haitians to invest in Haiti, as I have been doing. We won't be slaves to the US or the IMF, like the DR, and that's a fact. Haiti will prosper. And maybe then we'll help you gain your independence from the American imperialists like we did once before.

@ Nadoop: That's what I was saying, there's alot of Haitians in the DR but ive been I still got fam in Haiti, MOST Haitians have no intentions in leaving to DR, some of course do but the vast majority definitely does not. Alot of DR want to go other places like the U.S., doesnt matter, people migrate where they think they can go for a better life, that's the way of the world. The United States, the only superpower in the world is a country of immigrants from all over. HAITIAN PRIDE!!!

Haiti hasn't always been the way it is today, first of all. And Haiti WILL prosper, but first they have to let the country live. They have to first leave the people alone. They have to stop training "rebels" in the DR and occupying the country under guise of "restoring order." They need to stop financing dictators and de factor governments. They need to stop with the bullying. The need to let the government do its job. And they need to let the people deal with the government.

And while you are busy at proclaiming Haiti's "independence"....Haitians jump/rejoice at the sight of the big cruise ships in Labadee (not too long ago the same companies went to big pains to explain that Labadee was NOT *exactly Haiti*), tell me exactly how many Haitians can use the beach at Labadee, or if it is easy to get there from the Haitian mainland, because last time I checked, in the DR, visitors of resorts -locally owned or by international chains- know EXACTLY where they are, LOL!

Dude, I hate no one but those who hate me for not yielding to their racist crap. Dominicans have treated this disaster as it had happened to themselves and had gone far and beyond in aid of their neighbors. Ask people in PAP an they'll tell you.
@nadoop
@nadoop 15 жыл бұрын
LOL! Again, I agree with you in regards to illegal immigration. BUT, what I'm telling you is that your anger is misdirected. You need to take it with your Dominican oligarchs who accept Haitian refugees into the country so that they can profit. BTW: The Americans say the same about illegal Dominicans in this country. So it looks like we all have problems.

The world and the foreign media can say whatever they want. Actually, there is a tax and export base in the DR to pay our loans. If there weren't no one would lend us crap. Economics 101. @nadoop

If you want to believe something just because a so-called respectable source told you that's what it is, then good for you. These "statistics" come from the WTO, which also refuse to acknowledge Creole as a language. Those who don't speak French in Haiti are referred to as illiterate.
@nadoop

Certerooo, Frau Kami.... had been in Haiti in these days, and a bit busy with other things than the DR. Just imagine, we have quite a lot of other things to care about. You, your country and your personal paranoias are not the centre, not even an important factor of Haitian interest. LOL. I think this notion that Haitians hate Dominicans is a figment of your imagination. Certainly, there are many ignorant Haitians as there are Dominicans, but I honestly don't think you're making much sense. In fact, where I live, Haitians and Dominicans get along pretty well. And when I travel to Haiti, I don't sense any hatred towards Dominicans, only the American government, especially when Bush was in charge.

@JFKenji Things will get better with the help of God! We just have a lot of internal leadership problems. We lack creativity in raising national revenues to get the country moving. Certerooo, with all due respect, I have by far other problems than "hating you". I have family are in Port au Prince who are actually sleeping outside because their houses are almost crushed, and still we are just glad that they´re alive, when 111.000 people have died so far. I know you never believe anything I say, but I don´t care for funny KZbinrs like you at the moment. there are quite worse things actually.

Nope, we don't borrow to pay debt, genius. Financing bodies don't allow that practice, and the IMF make loans so there is liquidity in a gvt's account while they pay other loans. Or serve as a cash reserve, as they call it, stand-by. The money borrowed does not pay other loans per se, GENIUS. It is NOT like borrowing from one credit card to pay another. And our debt is by no means, "massive"..go check what Brazil's, Mexico's, Argentina's look like. But even with its debt FORGIVEN, Haiti...nah.

It is within your psyche to do so, but alas, we are NOT interested in being your punchbag, you guys are just not in our league so we won't bother. Dominicans HARDLY flock to Haitian sites, unlike Haitians do into Dominican ones, confirming once again their unresolved obsessions.

It is pointless to discuss anything with you, as you fit the mold of self-entitled, make-excuses-behind-a-relic-history Haitian who thinks is perfectly fine to cover up Haiti's very own failures by pointing fingers -or claiming rights on others they do not have. We moved on from that long ago from that mindset years ago. I'm done here, as the publisher of this video -which does not have anything to do with this debate- asked me politely not to use as a forum. He at least, is not dissing the DR.

You're under the assumption that every Haitian wants to escape to the DR or the US. My grandmother hates it in the US. She lives in her gorgeous home in La Plaine and comes here to visit once and while, only. And so does most of my family. I work every day and pay 25% of my taxes which, if I don't, will land me in jail. So the notion that some land gave me an opportunity, is ignorant, misinformed, and utterly uneducated. You're spewing nonsense right about now.
