Enjoyed your video of the day trip to Port Dover. I'm convinced I want to go next time for sure.

It is always a good day at Port Dover if the rain holds off. I book most of the Friday the 13th off, before November and after March. Just too cold to ride those months, no heated gear. You should take the time a go, it's a good day. Thank you for watching and your comments.

At 7:53 on the left are our group of ADV bikes, at 8:03-8:09 you're parking across the street beside another member of our group, the red Honda. At 8:23 dead centre top of screen you see the rest of our group again. What are the odds your video would come across my desk this morning. If this was algorithms at work, things are getting creepy. Turned out to be a great day even with the cool start. THX for sharing.

Doug, love the "lip stick" red color of your motorcycle! A REAL man can ride that color, and, not have his "guyness" called into question, nor, have his masculinity compromised!👍😁🤭❤️🐻🦅🤓😎 Doug

The red has grown on me. it was the only colour available at the dealer for the softail slim and I did not want to wait. And for sure its something different. Thanks for the comments. 👍 😄🍎

@@dougsmotocyclevlog1603 Doug, I'm about to obtain a 1981 RED & chrome Honda cb650 inline 4 cylinder motorcycle with only 31K miles on the clock from a friend who bought it brand new in '81! Has not ridden it in the last 20 years, but, has stored it in his garage and covered-in New Mexico. Don't be surprised if I should send you a text photo of it! ❤️🏍️😁🦅😎👍Doug

Nice capture of the Friday the 13th experience . Funny enough I spotted myself and 3 friends talking together as you walked behind us filming . We were the 4 guys on the right side of the scene between 8:47 and 8:52 mark of your video .I'm the guy in shorts with the hat and backpack . Coincidentaly we are all youtube guys like yourself , (two of those guys came up from the states ) and each of us have put out a video about being there that day to. Its quite interesting to see what each of us shot and how our editing styles differ . Anyway ,,nice edit good sir keep up the solid work .Cheers.

It was a good day, and for Oct the crowds were large. Great to see I captured you in the vid. Need to make sure you book of Sept 2024 for the next Dover event. Thank you for watching and your comments.

Thank you for watching and the comments. It was a bit chilly for the 90 minute ride. Once you got into Dover it was a good day. The vendors were great, a large crowd for Oct and no rain until getting back into London. 👍

great video! been here a one times but haven't been here during Friday 13th . looks like at this event will be the best time to visit Port Dover. I'm going this Friday, What would be the best time to be there? and what is the best spot to park. I'm sure, parking close to the beach might not be a good idea?

The event has later in the year, cooler which impacted the number of riders coming in. I enjoy get on the biker riding for a few hours and the meet ups. It was still a good day.

Even though this is about the bikes it's more like a police convention with the amount of cops they bring in as well.
@ericsweetadventure Жыл бұрын
I have been going for years. A long while back it was going through a rough phase. The event was filled with some tension, both multiple gangs and the heavily armed police were 'tightly wound' for lack of a better phrase. Over the next couple years the police presence was increased dramatically including spot checks along the routes into Dover, some as far as eighty kilometres out. In addition it seemed the police tactically changed their demeanor, their leading with smiles and waves went along way to lowering the events temperature. Those positive changes have continued to this day. Any ugly dark side is invisible to the public, the police, EMS, hosts, clubs and guests are in better spirits. The energy is very positive. It is a safe event. That early proactive effort allowed the event to continue.

@@ericsweetadventure I used to go all the time back in the day but the amount of police turned me off from going. It sure looks subdued from when I use to go even in the colder months

@@c-v-n3322 This year they made the core bike free and then replaced the rows of bikes in the core with tented vendors. Not sure that was a positive move. In previous years the core would be filled with the die hards, they tended to be a rougher looking set of riders, custom builders as well. I think that added to the core 'mayhem', missed that this year for sure.
@dougsmotocyclevlog1603 Жыл бұрын
I agree, it was harder to see all the bikers. I preferred when they had the bikes part in the centre of the main street. You could see more of the bikes. I had to part on the side streets, as I was later arriving, around 11am. It was still a good event. Next year Sept, some warmer weather, no heat gear for me yet.
@dougsmotocyclevlog1603 Жыл бұрын
It was not as busy as I have seen in past years. Having the event later in the year, did have an impact to the number of riders for the event. Its still nice to get on the bike ride for a few hours, and meet up.
