When you say you need a strong password, is that the password to your pc or the routers password or services password? Thanks great stuff.
@Certbros3 ай бұрын
Strong passwords for everything! But in this particular example, it’s your computer so it can’t be easily guessed.
@jeremylindemann5117Ай бұрын
I would say for the private PC's mostly. Routers have a web browser interface which has a password but that should only be accessible from private IP's, not internet IP's.

I'm a bit unclear on the distinction between routing and NAT, whether they're the same thing or different. With port forwarding, does the source IP from outside the network stay the same (ie. 83.24.123.2 from your example) when sent into the private network or does the external IP get translated into an internal IP for the destination computer? Also, if you forward a particular port number does that port become unavailable for all other computers within the private network?

how to know the two ip addresses (external and internal) of my router???
@jeremylindemann5117Ай бұрын
Log into your router's web interface. You do this by typing your router's IP number into a web browser on a computer that is on your private network. If you don't know the IP address of your router then you can find it using the instructions in that video (7:51). Once you've accessed the router's web interface there should be a function somewhere in there that shows all sort of information about your network, including the internal (LAN) IP and the external (WAN) IP. LAN stands for Local Area Network. WAN stands for Wide Area Network which always means the internet.

09:39 What if one needs to access 2 computers connected to my router on the same port at the same time how will that happen ?? or how to port forward that.
@Certbros3 ай бұрын
It depends on the service you’re trying to connect to whether it will accept multiple connections. But from a port point of view, the destination can be the same because the source port will be different.

Is this channel affiliated with Bangbros? I think they are more about port entering than port forwarding, but could be related.
@jeremylindemann5117Ай бұрын
They tend not to use firewalls when accessing ports.
