Good BOX of Trout!! Ya got to make ya trip down that way, that’s good! East side (end of rocks by state park) has been hot with 2-3lbers and even backside in marsh on wknd bc of boat pressure. Can make that trip from Port Sulfur pretty quick, launch is about 20min past Belle Chase tunnel.

You would have to pick a good day without wind and rain around. It’s not like lake Pontchartrain it has some big rollers out there

We left Covington at 3:45 so a little over 2 hours. Just got to stay down there and fish the next day and it wouldn’t be so bad of a haul. Seen a roach coach motel $49 a night but it was on the north side of the toll bridge so you would have to pay $7.50 again next morning to cross. Have to look into any cheep places on Grand Island to stay.

Yes i agree theres something satisfying about knowing your not just seeing the catching. But also that marina. As i know i want to fish new areas, but its the unknown lol. Well that and grand isle is so damn far from slidell
@Laproduceman3 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely just too damn far period. Unless you have somewhere to stay for a few days. It’s not a guarantee down there that the fish will bite. Hell the day we went down they was biting good that morning for a few minutes. The wind went from south to southwest and it was over. Those fish are just as picky as everywhere else. I’ll stick to what I know Delacroix we’re going later today west wind and all

@Laproduceman Жыл бұрын
I’d rather not fight a big monster if we don’t have plans on keeping it. I use a lighter thinner jigheads and horse them hoping the hook will bend and free him. I hate to just cut the line off and know that fish still has the hook in its mouth. If I get it to the side of the boat I try like hell to get the hook out and release it

I was there the day before with my son and we ended up with only 9 and big sailcat. Where did yall launch and get bait? I get my shrimp from Bada Bing in Leeville. If you dont want to pay the toll you can launch in Leeville under the bridge and run Bayou Lafourche to Fourchon. It's about a 10-15 minute run. Launch is free there and you dont have to pay the toll, just have to make a little longer run.

I didn’t pay attention to the name of the marina same place he got bait. He showed me the free launch. In my boat it would burn more than $7.50 in fuel there and back

@davidm22503 жыл бұрын
yes i bought it from the boat show in the dome in 2002. all original including trailer. Just changed bearings and hubs last month for the first time. It was the only red 22.6 he made at the time. Then he started making the 25-26 foot model more. then katrina and health issues. after moving off of almonaster rd by coke plant
