Port Fourchon, Louisiana is a mega oil port, located at Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a sea port, with significant petroleum industry traffic from offshore Gulf oil platforms and drilling rigs as well as the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port pipeline. Fourchon services deepwater oil and gas exploration, drilling, and production in the Gulf of Mexico. Port Fourchon services over 90% of the Gulf of Mexico's oil production. There are over 600 oil platforms within a 40-mile radius of Port Fourchon. This area furnishes 16 to 18 percent of the US oil supply. This port is amazing by any standards.

Edison Chouest is one filthy rich man. The graham family is too. although they are not on his level. I really miss working offshore. I am 47, but I often contemplate going back to that field.

Yeah but they kinda spreaded out around the country, plus Harvey Offshore acquired many of their smaller boats.

Why are they building these ships when everyone in LA want's the rigs stopped. As a maritime lawyer retired helping U.S. flag careers against foreign flag. Not one of these ships would have been built if the media got their way with the BP Titanic spill. Not one job would be spared.
