Tried to avoid things that I had shown before, but of course I had to include the lighthouse. Wouldn't mind going back over there and spending a few nights. Hello Dennis. Port Lavaca is a hidden gem. That warning sign is for the boaters who may go to the other side of the bridge. There was a a chemical plant that contaminated the water. So fishing is restricted on that opposite side. Those empty spots are camping areas for RV’s , pop ups, or tents. The locals use the park especially on weekends then you have the summer vacation crowd. Peninsula Park is outstanding for fishing. We usually back up our truck and fish off the cement stairway. Good restaurants in the area. Many pits to cook for yourself. Again it is a hidden gem. Magnolia beach is a good place to stay free.

Morning Dennis….Lavaca Bay, flanked by the industrial towns of Port Lavaca and Port Comfort, harbors an old Alcoa aluminum and chlor-alkali plant that in the 1960’s and 1970’s contaminated the bay and spawned the state’s largest Superfund site. When I lived in the north, I would always swim in the Atlantic ocean and of course, when I was out in California, I would swim in the Pacific Ocean. Always enjoyed it. As a general rule, I found the bays to not have as clean water as much as I would like to. I'll go walking in the water here in Rockport and as I get older even in the Gulf of Mexico, but it is pretty rare that I actually go swimming. I much rather prefer a pool or a clean alligator free lake.🐊🍀

Good morning Dennis, what a lovely town, sure has a lot to offer. I love the painting on the boy, girl bathrooms, very nice. If the fish and crabs arent healthy it kind of makes me wonder if it is safe for people to go in the water. 4 prota pots windy looks pretty strong. Good morning Thelma. Usually when that porta potty truck pulls up, otherwise known as the honey wagon, it has one hose to suck out the nasty stuff and then another hose with clean water with a good amount of pressure behind it to clean the inside. Throw a couple rolls of toilet paper and it's set for the day. Unless of course it blows over again. I thought it was kind of odd that were blown over in one spot. Of course, a vehicle could've hit them or something but they looked intact. It must get pretty bear on the weekends. They have four together. It was a gorgeous day not windy, but I'm glad I went. I actually film this video on Wednesday. I hope you're doing well and getting some rest today, friend.

Hey, Dennis. Oh, that was a lovely video! Thank you! And you had great weather, even if not so good for porta potties. The parks are really attractive & seem to be well maintained. I like the old downtown area. You're right, those stores could be refreshed and repurposed, but there would need to be more parking available. With maybe some kind of trolley or shuttle bus that takes people between the parking area and the downtown. Looking forward to the videos of the beach parks. Hope you're having a peaceful Sunday.

Thank you very much friend. I noticed that even behind these buildings there is some parking but not enough to sustain a downtown area. This street and layout was probably from the horse and buggy days. I do really like that period of Texas architecture.

Good morning! Love that old lighthouse. “Free is for me” - isn’t that what Calvin’s friend called him? 😂 Pretty coastline there. I’d never guess that gray water was a health hazard. 🤔 Awesome park there, lots of stuff for the kiddos to do. Fetuses should definitely avoid eating crab. Haha Cool old caboose. That lighthouse is beautiful! The bird sanctuary would also be interesting. We've driven through Port Lavaca several times but haven't stopped there yet. The health warnings are a bit concerning however, I don't think I would fish there. Have a wonderful evening Dennis 😊

There wasn't any signs around it. I even checked around the back. The platform is in really good shape as well. Maybe they have plans for it. I really like the one in Kingsville, Texas, but they made into a visitor center. Hope you're having a good day friend. I find my seagull videos are very popular with cats and dogs.

Hey buddy. I've been imagine it has something to do with being a third back day and then point comfort just across that bridge. I drove across yesterday. Very industrial. General rule I don't eat fish that comes from bays.

Now as a kid that plant that was across the bridge if not mistaken had leaked out a large amount of mercury in the water and it contaminated the water it was cleaned but not sure if totally clean again was told as when I was a kid !!
