Port Sunlight. A different kind of Town

Port Sunlight in the Wirral, lays next to the river Mersey. Built by the Levers brothers for their workers in 1888. This is a different kind of town built for factory workers. The area is pleasantly set out like a garden city and has 900 grade II listed buildings. From above you can get a feel for how different this place was to the rows and rows of terraced houses with cobbled streets. With beautiful gardens and boulevards it stands out as a place that anyone would be happy to live there.
