Thanks for taking the time to make a video of the generator carburetor repair. I have tagged it for when I need it.

"Pretty Simple". LOL My small engine guy says he has never had good luck with these small generators. Kudos.

Things. Many small engine shops won’t even touch carburetors other than to remove and replace. I have a lot of carburetor experience and kind of enjoy working on them. Thank you for taking the time to watch and for the comments. Mike

Ok I may have drank some Appleton estate prior to watching this, but your fluid motions indicate to me that you may in fact be a mechanical ninja
@zmotorsports623 жыл бұрын
It may be something you drank. However, I have been a mechanic for over 3-decades now. But I'm still learning and trying to improve my skillet with every project I work on. Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comments. 👍 Mike

It’s great to work on stuff you’ve never worked on before (discovery), and ace it ..

I have the Yamaha one , with very similar carb setup. First, I found the carb was very easy to slip out , provided you screw out both studs first. (mine's studs were loctited solid so yes, I had to take the body apart, too - but next time will be super easy as I 've lubed the stud threads on reassembly !) Second, there's a slow jet and pilot screw on top/ side of the carb , and these are the ones that usually get clogged after a while. Later models have a plug over the pilot screw (epa mandated), a pita to remove correctly (for cleaning) Standard pilot adjust. is 2-3/4 turns out. I drain the tank + carb when storing it now. And never use ethanol gas. So maybe yours had only a stuck fuel needle ?

Sorry, not quite sure what your asking. This was a quick job I did for a friend more than 4-years ago and if memory serves there was debris in the bowl and jets that just needed to be cleaned out. Pretty easy job to clean the carb.. Thanks for watching. Mike

It would be nice if we could see what you’re working on. Horrible camera angle and no close ups.

I'm sorry. I've stated many times that I'm a mechanic and not a videographer. I've been trying to work on my camera angles. This videos was filmed over three years ago so I hope the videos have improved. Sorry it was a waste of your time. Mike

There is a little spring where does it go
@zmotorsports623 жыл бұрын
If you’re talking about the governor spring, it will go on the throttle blade lever.

Thanks for the Video. I have one of these generators and can not find a float bowl gasket replacement. Do you know where to purchase one from? Company appears Out of Business.
@zmotorsports625 жыл бұрын
I’ve been able to match up the gasket at my local small engine shop as this carb appears to have been used on a variety of outdoor power equipment (OPE). Thanks for taking the time to watch. Mike

Same problem. I opened mine up and the float bowl 'gasket', which was leaking, appeared to be orange Permatex. Very strange as I bought this new at Costco several years ago, and it's never been opened before. I'll try a local small engine shop. Thanks for the video!

Hi there! Please help, I have this inverter that’s leaking. I opened it and noticed a clear plastic tube attached to a silver thing, I presume carborator, but the other end just hangs not attached to anything. Is it supposed to be attached to something, or is it just to release air? Thank you!
@zmotorsports624 жыл бұрын
Hard to tell by your description. Could be the fuel line that has become disconnected and leaking fuel or could be a vent line that’s open to atmosphere and a needle & seat that’s not holding pressure and allowing fuel to leak. Mike

Sounds like that area where you can drain the gas out of the tank for long term storage. Just tighten the screw on the tube that’s connected to the engine.
@ewreck9442 жыл бұрын
1 year late lol.. sounds like the tube that is used to bleed the gas inside of the carberator out. You should find the little screw thats at the very top of that line and make sure its tight. Sounds to me like its leaking gas cuz its loose. Give that a try.. if you still have it.

Every time you did a video 'swipe' and whooshed on to the next scene, you cut past the stuff I wanted to see. I have the exact same carburetor on a similar generator, with the stepper motor on standoffs above the throttle control. It fell apart as I removed the two standoff screws, and I am unsure how to put it back together. Did you happen to have any closeup images of the connector from the stepper motor shaft that moves the throttle shaft? I am not sure how to put it back together, and have an "extra:" spring that I think holds the stepper motor 'arm' to the throttle shaft ears. tom

Sorry about that. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m a mechanic not a videographer so I’m still learning. 😜 I guess I need to pause more between clips to allow the video editing to transition. Unfortunately I don’t have any still pictures that would be if any benefit. Thanks for taking the time to watch but I’m sorry it wasn’t more helpful. Mike

would anybody know where i can purchase the carburetor for this model? or know what the carburetor part number is? thank you.

Sorry. I don’t have the carb info right off hand. I buy my carburetor parts from my local small engine supply but I have ordered parts online before from places like Pat’s Small Engine. You might try them. Mije

Pretty bad video for teaching how to.. basically watching u unscrew and screw back together
@sportsreport9894 жыл бұрын
Oh I figured it out. No thanks to the video. Isn’t that the point of making a video. To teach people and “show” them how to??! This video does not do that what so ever
@stevenwilson6576 Жыл бұрын
Yeah waste of time. Of you show something you to show close up of every step and say how it looks and done. Terrible information....mechanic must show no matter what no excuse on video graphing
