Excellent watering system. I thought at first it was upside down, but I see your logic in it now! Great job and something we can all use!! Blessings from NE Missouri!

Is it possible to list the supplies needed
@AiVibeRadioShow Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the content I appreciate it I wanted to ask in order to prevent mosquitoes in their water is it possible to let an adult goat drink from the barrel with a pacifier?
@thegiftofmyfaults3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate you showing how it's done but it does not really help if I don't know what the supplies are called and or where to get them so feeling kind of lost

What about cleaning? Have you had any issues? Looks like the best system I have seen so far.

I like the design and I will build one for my garden with a drip hose. Just two questions. How are you going to clean the container? Will you add nutrients to their water to help with growth? Good videos by the way.
@SSLFamilyDad7 жыл бұрын
+Rah Min I would not add anything to their water unless I was doing worming meds or something. I can clean it once per year with a cup of bleach and letting it sit

Do you have the dimensions for the cuts of wood?

Looks great! Maybe drill a vent hole too? You might be getting enough through the 2" cap though.
@SSLFamilyDad7 жыл бұрын
I thought about that, it could be an issue but right now I leave the cap loose so hopefully that will let it breath. I will check it again today and see if it is vacuumed.
@DaybirdAviaries7 жыл бұрын
SSLFamilyDad I had to drill a vent in mine.
@SSLFamilyDad7 жыл бұрын
+Daybird Aviaries good to know, I just went and checked it and it looks like I will need a vent in mine also. Will just drill it in the cap

I got a stupid question, would it be better to have the water nipple plunger on the bottom so they can push it up with their tongues rather than having to bite down on it with their top teeth. Just asking cause I am new at this and was wondering if there was a reason for having it that way. Great video
@SSLFamilyDad7 жыл бұрын
+newfarmer71 Homestead once they figure it out they use their lips to suck on it and the bottom spout directs the water on top of their tongue into their mouth that way

Me.. spends 2 days gathering materials to build a pig water Watches this.... face palm hard af
@waylinnthompson59753 жыл бұрын
I built one of these, exactly as you showed, and I cannot get water to come through the nipple unless there’s a lot of suction, do these nipples not need pressure? How did you get yours to work? What am I doing wrong? I recall having these in the pig barns when we were young, and needing pressure in order for water to come out of them

Did you figure this out? You might need a vent hole to allow air in/break the vacuum

I use a similar system for my large parrots.

Looks great maybe can paint it black for winter and sun will keep it from freezing some.

+David Crowson I thought about that, might work at least for November and December weather

just wait for the pigs to learn to hold it down to create the wallow, that's what mine did, drained the 500 gallon ibc in a day.

I'm kind of curious why you don't water the animals in the pasture? Never mind I see it now!
@beauvanoverschelde32887 жыл бұрын
If you use it for goats, do not they break it by pushing it? The connection between the tube and the reservoir will be broken because it is PVC. Do you have another solution to this problem that is firmer? By the way good video!
@SSLFamilyDad7 жыл бұрын
+Beau Vanoverschelde the connections are all galvanized pipe for the drinking part of it. They could stand on it and it probably would not break but you could also extend it with some tubing into the pen and run a circulation pump so it won't freeze. Check out my other automatic barn system to see what I mean

Great idea! You may have said this a video already, but what are your plans for George and Martha? Are you going to sell them or keep them for meat? Or just pets?
@SSLFamilyDad7 жыл бұрын
+Justin Lichtle they will be the parents of hopefully many future generations of meat pigs. We may also sell the piglets as registered stock
