Finally a video that shows and easy way, with plans, to make a vertical stand with common parts and simple cuts. Bravo!

I have looked at a lot of videos about holders and stands. Yours is one of the best. Thank you So Much! I will try and build one just like yours. I have an old large saw that the gearbox was worn out when I purchased it. This will enable me to use my portable saw until I can make a gear for mine. They no longer make my old industrial saw parts. Again Thank you. Also Great Video, well put together, no nonsense, straight to the point. You get a FIVE STAR rating.

I did this build and use it all the time for 3 years very useful I made the removable table not screwed into place but it has a small square tube underneath that slots into another square tube welded on near the hinge

@@jconnar Yes, you are right. There are certainly other designs. The goal is that it can be disassembled without taking up space

I have seen so many designs for these stands. Or just a vertical or horizontal all different name brands of saws. It seems as though they all have major issues as far as time to build or parts & metal needed, way to much ECT.ect.ect. NOT YOURS, GREAT SHORT VIDEO PLUS PLANS. I LOVE IT. I WILL TELL ALL, & BY THE WAY, THIS IS WHAT YOU TUBE IS TRULY FOR. AGAIN, GREAT JOB. KEEP IT UP !!

Hi, very well done, thanks for sharing. Could you please tell me what did you exactly use in the place of the screw nuts marked with the blue color in your scheme? It looks like a small pipe with lengthwise cut. The hole for the screw thread was made on a lathe? Or what kind of pipe did you use? Many thanks.
@frd15rpd105 жыл бұрын
Dear Pavel Jelinek, you are right, these parts (and others) are made on a lathe : pierced and tapped steel piece. Then it is soldered.

Excellent design, instructions, and video. But where is the raucous rock or techno music??? I took a bunch of screen shots because this is the design I would like to build. I will try and pivot the drill press vise for the angle cuts. It accomplishes the portable, horizontal, and vertical needs without dismantling the saw and rewiring. I will also add a foot pedal for safety.

Hello my Friend. When you are cutting steel, which speed do you have on saw? Speed 1, the slowest? How many TPI You use on your saw blade? Thank for answer. Take care, bye bye :)
@frd15rpd103 жыл бұрын
Hi, I use a MORSE 20/24 TPI. I have not tested less TPI because it works very well for pipes and plain metals -even large-, and wood. What I can say is that in normal hand use (not the saw mounted in the stand), during the cut, the piece is pushed pushed against the adjustable vertical metal plate. With the stand, it shouldn't be the case, so the stiffness of the stand is a limit . In the first test, there were a lack of stiffness and many vibrations, so I added a screw, tapped at the back of the saw. You can see it on the plans. I am using the slowest speed to limit the noise, but maximum speed should work
