Remember, the gas shoots out the tip as soon as you pull the trigger. And that's the way the welding puddle should go. There will be some who agree and some who disagree with me. And that's ok. Great question. I have had zero issues with it. The bandsaw has stayed locked in there the whole time. Unfortunately, I’ve not used it as much as I would like due to work and other time constraints. But it’s still very solid in it’s mount.
@iamtubuler92664 жыл бұрын
Nice video thank you for posting it! So is that toggle clamp the only thing that is holding the saw in place?
@tomsdreamshopworx4 жыл бұрын
Lou Wallace - No, the clamp is not the only spot. Early in the video when I’m cutting that metal plate out with a jigsaw, there is a notch I cut out that slides partly into a fan opening on the motor. The saw is hanging on that and then the clamp locks it in position. If you look at other bandsaw table videos you’ll see this is a very popular mounting point. That’s where I learned that from. I’m glad you liked the video

I would have made my own if I had the equipment and ability, so I went with Swag Offroad's portable table. It wasn't cheap ($140 for the version 3) but I love the miter gauge slots, they also have a no frills version that clamps into a bench vise. It's a great setup for a small shop, and it's made in America. Can't wait to get to work making knife scales out of the most beautifully figured piece of wenge I've ever seen, which came from my local Woodcraft. When I took it up to the cashier we ended up talking about all the things that could be done with it for nearly half an hour, I felt terrible once I remembered that I had left my grandmother in the car but she'll get over it in a week or two...

Very simple design and great Idea with the quick clamp simple is often better if it gets the job done ! One thing I thought I'd add. If your machine slides around a little you could place some 1/2 by 4 inch bars under and beside the machine bed so it will seat on mark every time.. no sliding at all. May not make much difference if that clamp holds steady. Thanks for sharing.

when welding the bed frame, there must be different types of steel, because I have had some weld really well, while others seem to be harder steel and won't weld well. I wonder if the un-weldable stuff is cast iron or something.

After they gave me a new one, that one lasted 10 months. It just burned up 3 days ago. No extended warranty plan, so I'm without a saw now. I did the same thing as you building a stand for it, but I think it doesn't protect the saw motor from the debris getting intro it?
