I have one of these manual spin dryers and it works very well. It helps if you curl the wet clothes into the spinner, you will get more clothes in and it will spin better.

Do one arm at a time, back n forth and squat a bit. You'll save your back. I have one and live it. Just gotta center the clothes well si it doesn't shake.

Thanks I will try that, I just bought one, I use in bath though, so hard to squat. I try to straighten my back each spin, I am a bit lazy and keep back bent.

@@alspezial2747 Mine don't drip. I use mine in a bath. The floor of the bath is slightly curved, I think this affects the spin mechanism, that is to say that if the floor was flat, it might spin them properly dry. It is dry enough not to do it but not as dry as the spin cycle on the washer however it saves lots of space.

I've got one of these. I have a flat. I love it, together with wonder wash non electric washer. It doesn't get clothes as dry as spin cycle on a washer, for me, I think it is because I have mine in the bath and the base is not on a totally flat surface, however I put one foot on the left side of the base nearest me, and the right side, furthest away. If I had it on a totally flat surface it might get them dry. I have a clothes airer in the bath, and I get exercise, I would have these over a bulky washing machine any day.

@@MsMarmima Yes, I got an electric spinner though, as I could not get the hang of it, so it kept jerking. Sometimes I could get it to dry things well though. I will keep mine though, it's good for power cuts.

It's definitely easier outside than inside my bathtub which is not completely level. If I had a walk-in shower it would work better.

I know what you mean, I use mine in a bath, as I am 3 floors up in a flat. I could go outside in dry weather, it's very light. You don't get the leverage - I found that the base does not pop up or move around, if you have 1 foot on one side closest to you, and the other foot on the other side, furthest away, so your feet are diagonal from each other, I hope that makes sense.

@@heathernettrour9277 Harder but not impossible, if you have your feet diagonally on the base, still, you don't get the weight. I need to be less lazy and take mine down 4 flights of stairs and spin outside.

Interesting ~ looks to be quite efficient if the spin is balanced, as for the pull-string operation; pulling both cords and bending down risks a bad back 😖, sitting on a chair on the side of the pull-cord with the cord at the height with the back not bent and using only the arms/sitting at the side and pulling the cords like exercising with a rowing machine at the gym?

Thank you for sharing. The spin dryer definitely has my interest as an off grid or rolling black out option. What is the name of this? I already have an electric spinner for about seven months now. A bit quirky and a bit of a pain sometimes the first few minutes to get the balance correct. But after the balance, getting nearly all of the water out of my clothes especially thick winter socks and towels is amazing...am familiar with the Lavario and am purchasing one soon.

I found mine shakes and rocks around a bit too much, it vibrated so much the plastic lid fell off. I put it back on again.

This is a bit hit-and-miss with the shaking. I now use it on my kitchen floor so level surface. It doesn't matter what I put in. Sometimes the shaking stops and it spins like a dream, other times it shakes so much the lid comes off.

Should be fine, they are just being spun. Hand wringing will damage some fabrics.

The laundry has to evenly distributed for it to be balanced at the side of the drum; put two items opposite each other and repeat that pattern, full-size electric spin dryers have the same problem of being unbalanced and you have to re-distribute the laundry, and I assume we have seen the automatic front loading washers doing the distribution cycle before spinning

They are still damp. It is like wringing out your clothes. It will dry on the line faster, which is good in the north. It is also more gentle on the clothes than a wringer.

I came back on here, as I just found out, that, if I fill this to capacity, it does not rock about and goes smooth like a dream, drying laundry to nearly dry.
