Spend a couple bucks and get a used Pelican case...The stake set up is cool

I have a larger pelican case.. but it's too big for backpacking. weight is always a concern for backcountry camping.. that's really all this radio will be for. at least I say that lol.. you have a model you can recommend?

@@AK4PJ so I'm not the only one guilty of buying cheap crap 😂

lol. I've got plenty of that kind of stuff.. but it did work good through a few of my videos.. then for these I went to use and it just didn't work.. so I definitely need a better one. especially when outside doing antenna stuff.

got to wheel and deal and save.. i sold a lot of ham equipment I had over time to get this..not much is free in this hobby.

@AK4PJ I mean, I think I can get a second hand triband from yaesu or icom, alinco, Kenwood, but it's gonna be bulkier and heavier with an AGM battery. 73's from YV3AHS.

most definitely.. i have a yaesu 891 that's works flawlessly.. but at 6 lbs for the radio alone, I'm not wanting to carry it too far here in the mountains..then have to add in the other gear.. grams = ounces = pounds = pain going into the backcountry..
