Portal 2 custom test chamber "Training"

This is a video showing off my new portal custom chamber called "training (without plate transportation)" where players get small practice rooms to get used to the basics of portal 2. (Thumbnail from a custom map not made by me and I will find the map and it's creator when I can, aka when my pc wont be a bug but credit to them. :D)

i love the concept of this, its for training. im always interested into training maps where u can just mess with what you got. Specially in fighting games and messing around in this would be fun.

For a puzzle game this is pretty bad you don't do a tutorial like this you are supposed to introduce the concepts slowly and seamlessly with clear yet subtle clues on how to solve it

While good in theory, i do not believe a proper training map can be made is PeTI. If you wanna make this you should learn hammer Believe me it’s simpler than it looks

I'm only in my first week, but it drives me crazy! I'm still better with custom textured though... anyway, I normally use PTI with mods to make it easier. I'll keep trying hammer though.

Peti is good for making test chambers still. just because you can do more things with hammer doesn’t mean it’s immediately better.

Here's an idea: you can get BEE2, where you can manually change level styles and add in custom voice lines, and also remove the Multiverse Cave lines. You can replace test elements, and also use the original level palette of items. You can save your palette of items and have an infinite amount of items in your level, all made with BEE2 and the puzzlemaker.

In portal 2 singleplayer it does not show you the affects of speed gel on cubes. Does it affect anything?

make the map in the puzzlemaker again then go to hammer and you can find your map once you located add game_text or use point_message to show messages
