Interesting take, but I actually believe the birds will survive. First of GLaDOS is incredibly intelligent and most likely knows what food and nutrition is and that organic beings need it to survive. Second a few thousand years have passed between portal 1 and portal 2 meaning there have been generations of birds within the facility who had to find something to eat too. I believe GLaDOS most likely sent out her "killing machines" to find food for the birds. If they succeeded in that however...idk...and we'll most likely never find out

No, Chell was brought to the labs during bring your child to work day when she was little. And bring your daughter to work day was also the day Glados took over the facility. You know this because when your in the dark section with Wheatley shortly after your escape from Glados, you encounter science fair projects. Wheatley mentions what I just told you. You know that Chell was there because the giant overgrown potato plant is on one of the presentation panels and Chell’s name is written in the bottom right corner. So this means either Glados is lying about Chell being adopted and her parents being there, or Chell WAS adopted and her new parents took her to aperture labs.
