Porter Robinson & Madeon's final show at Coachella Weekend 1. Amazing set and that it has come to an end.

I got to watch the live stream and i was surprised to see that OCEAN of people who all seemed to be very into their music. Had a smile on my face the entire time watching so many other people enjoy it just as much as i did.

Yung Devo I was there in the crowd. I came early to get a good spot and was worried about how crowded it was getting but the crowd was amazing. Good vibes and no pushing just pure love for the music!

Just wondering but I'm going weekend two, how early did you have to get there to be so close?
@penelopeboone54297 жыл бұрын
about 2 sets early. so 3-4 hours

Thank you! 【=◈︿◈=】so much love for these two.

Me too. The band that played before them was grouplove, and then before them was a not so popular reggae band, so I managed to get pretty close. What you do is go at the end of the person's set that is two before theirs, so when the crowd shifts you can squeeze your way up close. Then wait for the next band to go all the way through and when that shifts you'll be at the front even more so. The schedule is the same for weekend two as one. Go during the last 10 minutes of Toots and the Maytals set, and you'll be front for Porter and Mad. THEY WERE SO GOOD

I love their music and all, but I'm not really convinced that they could play all of the parts live. I'm not having problem about seeing them live, but when they tried to turn some knobs and nothing happened is kind of funny.
@cahan70337 жыл бұрын
Smith Sakulkaew Obviously not all of it is live, not even 1% of music producers are actually playing everything live throughout the entire show. Those knobs they were turning could be for lighting etc not just for the music. Porter and Madeon however are definitely up there in terms of how much is actually live and do a lot more than the majority of music producers with Madeon and porter doing vocals, drums, keyboard and mixing throughout their shows whereas many music producers do literally nothing apart from press play.

yeah I think so, too. their show is up there and for sure better that ohters. I don't think midi knobs could control the lights, tho. But I appreciate the live aspects they put there. Their show did move me.

Smith Sakulkaew So here's the deal. Porter and Madeon both have a "base track" loaded into Ableton on their laptops. This is the majority of the show, and this never differs between locations, apart from the first shows in the US. Then, they can from there at will, do whatever they like using their keyboards, synthesisers, vocoder, even that cymbal Madeon has, and other equipment. This allows for each individual show to differ slightly per song. For example, many samples triggered in Coachella were absent from the show I went to in Sydney, and many samples from the Sydney show (which I have the lossless audio for) were not included in Coachella. Hopefully that clears it up for you. It doesn't make them any less impressive at all either. Producers simply cannot make a show work on this scale without finding ways to do it like this here. Love you Porteon (:
