Its a shame developers cant keep at least facades on old original buildings within development.Losing Esplanade Hotel*s Victorian architecture should of been blocked by council as it destroyed the Esplanade+memories+looks as if they will repeat process.Art+Architecture+conservation is so important, thats how towns are erased, privatised, sold on+out,

Yes I agree that is how towns are erased. You might want to take a look at the 6 regeneration areas of Porthcawl series. Massive plans for development of the town. Salt Lake, Sandy Bay, the Fair and Griffin Park. It might however turn you off from moving back. I rather like the open spaces. Aldi already on Salt Lake. I have been doing updates of it all.

This is the Coney Beach I remember with so much affection. Not the same now but still a crying shame it’s closing.

@@SianyLeighEvs1 2 more years it will remain open. But the land has been bought for re-development. Yes, the good old days when it was jumping here.

@@Fly.001 Is it right that there will be a new fairground sited elsewhere? I also remember the annual fireworks display, we’d travel from Swansea to go to that then around the fair afterwards. Happy, happy days.
