Very cool that you have a Pudgy! I’m a former Symba owner who followed your trip to Alaska and I’m friends with Dave, the owner/designer of Portland Pudgy.

It is a great little boat!

Portland Pudgys are real boats and capable of crossing oceans. Unfortunately the occupants may not survive the trip, but the boat will certainly arrive. They just might though and that's what makes the Pudgy a legal lifeboat and my tender.

Interesting that they appear to have changed the oars since the last time we bought. (Ours were black with orange pads.) Are they still heavy-duty feeling?
@DaBinChe Жыл бұрын
Supply chain problems at the time, but they feel quality, compared to the oars from the RIB I last had.

Are there alternatives to portland pudgy as life raft dinghy? Like you take a regular dinghy and put survival stuff on it or something?
@DaBinChe3 жыл бұрын
Not sure. Life rafts need to be Coast Guard certify so you can't just use anything. Also the PP needs the canopy attached to be considered a life raft. All life rafts have a canopy....part of requirement.

With wood prices the way they are that stand cost more than the boat

Pudgy is cool but to pricy as you can buy a real sailboat for that cost.

yeah but can a real sail boat be used as a dinghy and a life boat?
