Rapids's fans, you are in for another very long season. Poor quality on all sectors and no capacity to overcome on the short and medium terms. Portland always provide with such an European stadium vibe, and I simply love it. Even when it lacks some quality, that crowd can really enter the game. No need on this one tho, great third goal and easy win.

Its an entertaining league but it’s nowhere near one of the best leagues in the world when it comes to the quality of football. It’s like watching amateurs play, it’s so slow and way off any of the top 6 european leagues, brazil, and J league. Don’t get blinded just because messi plays there now.

It's a promising league, but really far from the top. Almost all European, most South American and Asian leagues are better. Let's be clear: an old champion playing in a league won't make it golden. It really lacks the promotion/relegation system, and a developed club culture. Timbers are an exception, they have solid supporters and they cheer everytime and not only when the team scores. Hopefully in 5-10 years things will be even better.

Colorado has added some talented new pieces but they are overwhelmed by a historically good franchise in the form of the Portland Timbers. MLS owners must increase the salary cap to at least $10 million and maybe some of these struggling franchises will have a greater chance of gathering some high level talent. Yes, it would mean the top franchises in MLS will benefit more but it will leave more opportunities for top talent to "slip through the cracks" and find their way to these mid or small clubs.
