I love your little glimpses into your life gardeners tip for your tomatoes: take one plastic bottle per tomato plant and cut off the bottom. than take off the lid and bury the bottle with the bottle neck next to the tomato roots. Now you can fill the bottle with water from the actual bottom of the bottle and it will flow directly to the roots. This way you will lose less water through evaporation and the bottles can be reused every year.
