I really appreciate a lot that he shows the model. It makes a big difference to understand his skill. His drawing is actually more expressive than the girl. I get deep emotion watching a portray like this. I believe i have the soul of an artist, i am so sensitive. i struggle with faith when i see his drawing after 2 minutes i think it will not be good, not bad just a coarse sketch. Even after 6 min it is still a coarse sketch. Then he starts using the eraser to redraw in finer detail. It still looks hopeless. He keeps redrawing stuff and it looks like the eraser if very effective at erasing. Maybe i haven't learned that yet. He is creating shadows and grey tones. Then like magically it becomes better. The redrawing of the ear taught me a lot about his process. Very grateful for this video. The result is excellent.

OK, so maybe her mum wouldn’t recognise her but I loved watching this develop and as a beginner it is useful for me to observe and recognise those subtle differences. For those who ask about paper, pencils etc. - all you need to do is use the little down arrow immediately below the video at the right corner and as if by magic all the exact information is there and there are even links so you can be really, really lazy and not need to go searching for suppliers ( it even gives info on shipping to your own part of the world). What a wonderful thing technology is, bringing such amazing teaching/demos AND the tools to do it into our own home! Thank you, dear artist for freely sharing your wonderful skills.

You must understand this is a demo. Not a commission. If it were there would be other steps one can take to guarantee the result would be very close. BUT, While seeking exactness, there is the interpretation element. Exactness is not the issue, especially in a demo. If you are looking for exactness, your not an artist. Your a copyist. Remember we we want to see YOUR interpretation. Not a photographic copy.

he is not making a hyper realistic drawing taking hours and hours of time. he is drawing free hand and probably in 2 to 3 hours. this is way better looking in such limited time. and i am sure if he goes for a realistic one it will be picture perfect. and drawing exact the same doesnt mean anything unless you are going for a realistic drawing. abstract and artistic way of drawing is way more difficult than reaclistic ones.thats what i as an artist believe.

Love your videos. This is a beautiful drawing of a very beautiful girl.

beautiful girls tend to be difficult and narcissistic, not all of them, but quite often. They become expert at coldly turning down men, because being beautiful means an unending list of men attracted and bothering her. But although it must be annoying they become addicted to it and cannot live without the attention of turning heads. If you are the man of such a beautiful woman, you will find she craves to be praised constantly, receiving extra attention and one man 's attention is not enough. It takes a special man to balance such a woman and to share her with the world because you cannot do it all.

Excellent work. Nice coming with details and softening. The corner jaw from the ear down, the corner of mandible is a touch lower, longer from the ear down on the original. Maybe relevant or not.. but the skill and building it up so quick - is amazing.. congratz!

You needn't need to state the obvious by pointing out differences from the original. Sounds like you need to lower him to make you feel better.

idiots you should be grateful that he provided the original for you to learn something. If he didn't you'd learn nothing, instead you reward him by pointing out the differences. That is not wise. If only showed his drawing you'd be like wow, so good and you'd learned nothing !

First of all nice portrait. One suggestion. Upper right cheek lower right eyelid is clearly visible in the real pic. I thought it could use more light to me because it doesn't seem visible in video portrait to me. Other than that nicely done.🤔😉
