Transcript:
Oh, there’s more blockade stuff. Lots of blockades I’ve been to. And this is more blockades.
My camera is a witness. And it was really something. I could be in the editing room with this stuff all day and forget to go and eat. And it was just so beautiful, so beautiful. I loved it. I found this was my medium, you know? I’ve done all kinds of things, but this was it. I don’t know why, but I just love reading this one.
‘Courage, letting your darks shine bright, uncovering stones of history. I remember first woman, grandmother spider. She birthed herself from the dark void. It took a long, long time, for she had nothing to work with except the power of her own thought. She dreamed her thought into substance, and as soon as she was born, she began to spin and spin and spin. And she wove that sacred spiral upon which the universe was born. And that is the thread I cling to now.’
So, once I was done going through all my journals, I had a ceremony to burn them and to release everything back to the universe. And so, we did go out on the land and made a fire. It took three hours to burn.
I could see everything going up. The more it went, the more free I felt. I was just really… brand new again.
