brand new user still in trial period -newbie question - I made a new tool bar as per Eli' instructions - added a complete list of tools I usually might need -named it, chose icon etc - seemed fine but then realised that some of the drop down menus won't open - e.g. filters, library, curves, keywords, color balance, black and white, lens correction, keyword library, style brushes or presets - is there a maximum number that can be added and work ? Are there some rules you need to know that aren't obvious? Any help appreciated.

Great techniques - I appreciate you sharing them with us. The process for broadening the skin tones in the beginning is killer. One thing that popped into my head when doing the before & after comparisons at 19:00 is how much the image would have changed if you'd have profiled from a color checker like an X-rite tool. I know you've done skin work at this point, but globally I wonder what the starting point would have been.

Eli, thank you so much for helping us enter the world of portrait editing with Capture One. With all the modifications you did, I wonder whether there is a chance in C1 to store your default values in a brush to not having to recall them when editing. Do you try to do full edits soley in CO if you can get away with it as there's so much you can do especially in terms of colour grading. Or do you find that the plethora of techniques for grading and skin retouching in PS is still essential. All the best, Tony.

This is a great workflow...however...Im going to be the elephant in the room....This is great for females 20-25 years old. Basically flawless skin. A little dodge and burn and whala! Gorgeous. right...well 20-25 year olds dont buy Portrait packages. Mrs. Smith that is in her late 40's does. This is great for the hobbyist, Not for paid client work. The inability for frequency separation is a deal breaker. Quite honestly, its par lightroom standard. Ive spent hours trying to make it work but have to keep rounding in and out with PS to complete client work. Id love to be able to migrate into C1 but my gut tells me we are years away from adobe standard. I love what you do...I love your work but 18-25 year old females in every portrait, is unrealistic....for a professional anyway. Have a great thanksgiving!

I don't really understand your use of R+G+B curves to change colors. Doing S curves for each channel is kind of killing what you want to do with the image ... it nearly only increase the overall contrast just as the luma or RGB curve would. Why not using color wheels instead ?
