I don't know what it is about this song, but every time I've ever heard it it's captivated me. There isn't a single occasion this doesn't fit. Weddings, Funerals, Parties, Getting arrested, Shootouts, Surfing on the beach, Skydiving, Getting hit by a car in slow motion, frying bugs with a magnifying glass, spilling milk because you didn't know you had random seizures and your first spell was in the process of trying to make a bowl of cereal, setting something on fire, burying old notes from ex girlfriends, shutting your finger in the car door, accidentally drowning in a public pool, your first kiss, etc. Either way it's a profoundly perfect track. It captures you the same way "One Headlight" by the Wallflowers does, in the sense that it's really just beautiful to listen to and it puts you in a state of euphoria. This song is recent and it's not influenced by pop or any other outside popular sources and I find that refreshing

I think that this song can touch every person listening to it. To me it says, that there are those on Earth that love and actually care about others, and that there are those that just don't care about others. It's the message I get when listening to it, but it may not be how another person feels. That's the beauty of music, it touches our soul.

it's crazy how an artist sat down, thought wrote then produced mixed mastered a song that made someone consider "nah, not today." and you know exactly what I'm referring to.
@johnmortimer78627 жыл бұрын
I don't know why I like this song so much, but I go through phases where I listen to it on repeat. There is some kind of tangible but discrete sadness in the lyrics, I think that it speaks to the disillusionment of people who realize that the world is nothing like what they've been told. You can't put your finger on it. You just kind of look around you one day, everything clicks, and you just shake your head and say "what the fuck am I suppose to do?" Hence the desire to just close the door and sleep forever, and not to be a part of the whole mess. Just to give up on a world that never cared enough to even know you were there to be abandoned. Either that or it speaks to the endless dissatisfaction of yet another generation of spoiled kids who have no clue what it's like to actually have to work hard for a damn thing.
@highcat71844 жыл бұрын
Yea this song definitely highlights the darkness and unfairness of reality I can see this song going hand and hand to represent victims of war, Poverty, Sickness, Death, Depression, Re awakening, Fatal illness ect.
@highcat71844 жыл бұрын
Also I think it might be referring to someone who fears getting stuck in a loop They don't want to work forever cus at some point in the cycle that's not living They don't want to stay awake in a world that asks so much from them What's so wrong with wanting to go to sleep and never wake up?

Interesting perspective. What resonated with me, was the responsibility that we all have as part of the humanrace for the kind of experience everyone gets. And yet we can't rely too heavily on ourselves, won't trust a supernatural being either.

People who say "just die" sleeping forever not seeing tomorrow is not dying. It might go hand and hand but the song is saying they just want to sleep. To not feel death but to just take a long rest and never waking up. Evey other day I feel the exact same way. I'm not suicidal , I don't want to kill myself. I just rather sleep and now wake up. I'd be oblivious to death escaping into my own world of imagination and dreams.

This song is incredible, some of the comments are like: why live when they want to die? But its that point in time where you realize that death is inevitable, unavoidable and when you realize you're mortal it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Death is an experience unlike any other and it that mind set of be grateful that you have the options that you do have weather its a shit life, you still have the option to rebel to be your own self; to concur the goals you set out to do. It's that feeling of accomplishment--your whole life dedication completed; the point of finishing it is the most complete feeling. The comfort of never having to live life's stresses ever again; its an relief knowing that your whole life is brought to a righteous close... Can't wait.

Brad Kinowski what if you were kidnapped and held prisoner in a tiny white padded room for 7 years without ever leaving, and this song was playing on repeat indefinitely. What if near the end of your life, far after you became detacheded from reality, you had one wish: to be killed for this tortuous experience to end. After dying prematurely from natural causes, the kidnappers disposed of your body, which was found by the police, identified by your parents. Later, before your funeral, your family was sent the video of your 7 year confinement. Regardless, your family knew you before you were taken, they knew you wanted this song played at your funeral, so as they lower you down under the earth, this song, that you heard 7 consecutive years straight with no breaks, is yet again playing as your final moments in relation to your existence. Would you still have wanted it played in that circumstance huh?????
