Yes, the main idea behind the video were prepositions but not to scare people, I just looked for the way to introduce them in small chunks, it's easier this way than giving you all the rules when to use which one, it's a nightmare, just like in every language...

Olá Maria. As in other videos, great and very clear pronunciations (maybe even I will learn some Portuguese, before going there; although my French and Spanish tend to pull it to their side). Since you have a lot of different videos, do you have a suggestion on the order in which they should be watched? Not being a linguist, I'm not sure what strategy is the most efficient to learn Portuguese. Since there are so many words similar in French and Spanish, the pronunciation in Portuguese is a REAL difficulty. Cheers and muito obrigado.

I think you're a great teacher but sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the Portuguese pronunciation. I'm a beginner so maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but the translation of 'What do you do on Sundays?' was mindblowing in Portuguese at speed!

Yes, that's exactly why I like to focus on the pronunciation so much. We usually learn the structures, how to formulate the sentences etc, but when we hear a simple question like "what do you do on Sundays" more often than not, we can't even understand it because pronunciation gets in the way.

Your videos are great! I am a native Portuguese speaker and can attest to the great way you pronounce and explain the language. I just want to make a comment about the pronunciation of 'A(s). The way you say it makes 'A(s) = to As. The pronunciation should sound more like "Ha' ", not "A(s)".

I cannot distuingush between the normal 'n' and the nasal 'n'. When the word gets said at once or even quickly, it always sounds to me like a normal 'n'. I mean, its nasality does not lead to its not being heard, it remains in some form pronounced.

I’m enjoying this videos and I thank you so much for investing time in making them. I know these are a few years old but I would recommend some longer pauses between different sentences. That’s when someone thinks of what it’s been said and maybe repeats the phrase aloud. Jumping immediately to a new phrase is a bit overwhelming. That extra second would help a lot. Thank you Maria!

I totally understand that and I appreciate your feedback but trust me, I see it in analytics that the attention spam is very very low and the longer the video, the sooner people leave. As if it weren't for free?! I don't understand it but when I record, I repeat the sentences many more times and I do make longer breaks but when I edit the videos, I do my best to shorten it as much as possible. Unfortunately, the analytics tell KZbin if it should push the video to more people or not and everyone who's listening can always pause the video to repeat as many times as needed, write down or reflect on it.

Yes, I know...😅 if it's still confusing, try to remember that it has 4 forms- singular and plural, masculine and feminine: no/na/nos/nas. I understand it's so natural to you to when you see it written to think of /nou/, but we read it as /nu/.
