Thank you, sincerely. It just bugs me how people act like if they were dealing with a realtime battle, they could handle it as good as a game. You can't calculate everything so easily. So in honesty Ash is doing good for everything he gets thrown at him. He uses the pokemon he likes, not what's in or Uber or OU, he fights with his friends, his "family". It's sad how pokemon to many people has become nothing but numbers.

@Sonicwave1000 Haha, I'm glad you like it! I made it with Photoshop. It's a relatively long process. You see, I got Ash's eyecatch from the episode Fight for the Light (fake Olivine gym battle) and put in in there with the eyecatch bar (this one I got it from a Falkner battle). I messed around with the settings of the image menu and changed the aspect of the bar. Then I added the VS thing abd the text (R/S letter font from dAfont.com). Got it? XD How come no one did this before?

Definitely the better mix; loved it during Charizard's fight against Blaine's Magmar, and when Gary faced Giovanni's Golem and Kingler. Epic music!!!

Well said! Red basically represents you when you're playing through the game and are meant to beat everybody while Ash is you when you play against other people irl and you're not guaranteed to win.

That's weird, I don't ever recall real-time battling being POSSIBLE outside of the anime. And Ash forgets the most BASIC things. After he beat 3 generations of Trainers and Gyms, he forgot that Normal type doesn't affect Ghost type. IF real-time battling was possible, everyone else on the planet would've at least remembered that after that much experience.

@OMGZach72 Yeah. XD I have to watch a few gym battles from Kanto, Johto and Hoenn (in Hoenn only Winona, because I started watching it a long while ago LOL). I don't feel atracted by the Hoenn and Sinnoh gym leader battles, the only seasons that ruled were the Kanto and Johto ones, in my opinion.

It was around level 7. :P And Mew is only rare in Gold Silver and Crystal. It's rarity ran out in Red Blue Green and Yellow when the Mew Glitch was discovered.

I'm still holding out on Ash traveling thru Kanto again, battling some old and new Gym leaders, and catching a few new pokemon while rotating out older members and other region members, to battle in the Kanto League where he might win or place 2nd. Think about it... Charizard vs Magmortar, Sabrina actually battles with Alakazam and Gengar, Ash vs Forrest, Ash vs Misty, maybe a Gym Battle at the Dark City Gym, the Fighting Dojo could become a Gym again, Ash battles whoever the Viridian Gym leader is for real this time, and wins! He gets a new Rival, and during the league, maybe bring back one of Ashs old opponents to battle in Round 3 or 4, like Mandy! It would be a good Finale Season or filler season how Frontier was!

He gets lucky a lot, and his pokemon coincidentally happen to be top tier. Pikachu is said to absorb energy from its surroundings faster than others, Squirtle was the leader of his own gang, Bulbasaur defended an entire garden, Charizard is Charizard, Muk was the leader of his army of Grimers, Krabby had amazing potential (evolving during its first battle and using Hyper Beam), Heracross constantly sucks from Oak's trees to get stronger (surviving Gary's Fire Blast/Flamethrower), ect. ect.

The lives of Ash and Pikachu are continuously set back a year or so once they reach the end of a region by some mystical time-being. This explains why Ash makes the same mistakes all over again, why Pikachu goes from being super-powerful to super-weak and why Ash holds a party for the fact that he and Pikachu have been friends for a whole year (i.e his 11th birthday) only to be announced as 10 again when he gets to Unova.

So perhaps the sprinklers had an effect that was sort of a precursor to the now legitimate Gen V move, Soak. That would give Onix Water type attributes and thus make it weak to Electricity.

Ash keeps trying to hit Ghosts with normal moves, but we all know that's bullshit., Even the games' AI tries something else if a certain move doesn't work as well as it wants it to after a certain amount of times.

Sure the games have different levels but the anime has its own canon plus dont you think gym leaders train their pokemon as well as other trainers. Proof of that is gold and silver where when you goto kanto the caught pokemon are low levels but everyone else is about the level you should be.

@Pottsylird Electric vs Rock is neutral Electric vs Ground is not effective at all Pikachu can't touch a geodude or diglett. Why? They are ground type (well geodude is rock/ground) Pikachu can hit a Sudowoodo, why? Because its rock only, normal damage, not counting Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB). Pikachu can fry the hell out of Aerodactyl, why? Rock/Flying. Rock may be neutral to Electricity, but Flying is weak to it. Therefore Super Effective. Hope I enlightened you.

as he was okay back then were he had emotions as a character, and was allowed to develop, but now he is just an IP for nintendo, the creators have said the show will keep cycling through the same pattern until it dies out, so ash was great when he could let pokemon like primeape charizard and butterfree be free, but now its all about go to new area, find someone to be a rival, get 8 badges, enter final tournament, all while helping every sad pedestrian on the way.

You know, I actually couldn't agree more. You would think at the very least they could have released the manga turned into an anime even for a month to see what people thought, put it on a later time block and a 14 age warning for the violence etc level here in the us and set it fly. The manga plot was more respectful to the game, while the show is to sap kids into the series with its cutesy-ness.
