Not trying to tell the American Rabbit Breeders Association how to do their jobs, but if a judge at a dog show posed an animal that roughly, he'd be escorted off the premises for his own safety.

It's the proper way to pose a meat rabbit. It is so the people can determine if they are of good quality or not. If the rabbit didn't like it, he would be biting, or scratching the guy up. Rabbits love attention and you would definitely tell if they didn't like being handled. And how is his feet getting pushed into his butt? His hind feet are even with his hips which is natural pose even for a rabbit that has not been trained for show. Plus rabbit shows are educational and teach kids how to handle animals properly and how to take care of them, not to mention the fact that they can earn scholarship money from a rabbit. I suggest you do some research before you decide how something feels. No hate here just stating some facts. ✌

bunny-help 101 I’m a holland lop show breeder. I love my buns so very much and so does almost every other ARBA breeder. As for hurting the rabbit that is definitely not the case, every breed has their own pose and if they are built well structurally the pose will feel very natural for them as that’s how they were built to sit. If you really love bunnies it might be a good idea to find an ARBA show near you so you can learn more about it. I promise you will see more rabbits and different breeds than in any other place. Most show rabbits are taken care of very well and fed only the best food. Some people are a bit rough with their rabbits but for the most part we aren’t. If rabbit lovers should call anyone out it’s the pet breeders who just add more pet rabbits to the world that will probably end up in shelters like many other rabbits because people don’t know what they’re getting into when they purchase a rabbit.
