Position of adjectives in Italian: before or after?

What is the position of adjectives in Italian? Do they go before or after the noun they refer to? For example, is it "una vecchia casa" or "una casa vecchia"? And therefore, we learn a lot. We learn much more. Thank you. Please continue to be like this. Little by little, thousands of Italian students around the world will find you and appreciate your wonderful approach to teaching. Remember always, slower speed and very precise pronunciation make your videos unique and worth the time to listen to them. Vloggers who are fassssssster and who jibberjabber like teenagers and try to teach "normal" fast Italian with crazy sentences and sloppy pronunciation are simply a waste of time for the language learner. They think they are teaching, but in fact they are simply frustrators. But you, you make each minute very valuable. You make us feel good and smart. Fast-talking "teachers" with "average" pronuciation make me feel stupid and depressed. They ruin my day. But you, young man, you MAKE my day! LOL.

Bel video come sempre. Però ho una domanda. E` possibile dire "un vecchio amico vecchio"? Ossia che l'amico è davvero vecchio ma anche lo conosco da anni. Forse suona stupido, ma secondo me ha senso.

Ciao Stefano! Posso fare una domanda? I tuoi esempi " la vecchia casa" e "la casa vecchia" mi hanno fatto un po' confuso. Ho imparato che "una nuova macchina" (significato astratto) significa una macchina, che è nuova per me, ma può essere stata usata; "una macchina nuova" (significato concreto) significa una macchina diretto dalla fabbrica, nuovo di zecca. Mi sbaglio o non è lo stesso con l'aggettivo "vecchio"? Ti ringrazio per i tuoi video!

Quello che stai dicendo è corretto. Purtroppo queste regole sono specifiche per ogni aggettivo ma l'idea di funzione restrittiva e descrittiva rimane. L'italiano è una lingua molto flessibile quindi queste regole purtroppo sono molto variabili...
