Positioning system fault on a 2004 Otis lift!

Wow. The IFMA in the building I live in sometimes loses a track of certain floors, but it just repeats the first floor and second floor until it gets to the last one. It then gets really confused, spits out "≡" and starts randomly closing its doors for a millisecond (usually does it 3-4 times) and when it finally "nudges" and pushes through, it goes to the correct floor. I once got it to hit the emergency cut-off switch. It did not move after that. Next day, it... worked. I am still skeptical of its reliabillity.

What if you had tried calling it to the 8th or 9th floor then sent it to the 10th would it just get confused again or would something else happen

@@fragrance_frog77 I called it to the 9th floor right after filming this and it seemingly fixed itself and started working normally again, at least temporarily.

I like this mod especially the buttons! The buttons look so nice to press but the lift itself is in a very bad condition. Hopefully they will not modernize this lift. Talking about the positioning issue, it shows “- -“ when it loses position. Hopefully a repairman will fix this issue and put the lift into a better state. And also refurbish the cab. That is AlI have to say for this one. PS: this lift has a VERY LOUD clunk sound when leveling. It always scares the heck out of me.

The other lift was stuck between floors at the time, and even if I did use it, it would be slower than running.

@@Cloverboi It was stuck between floors and turned off, I didn't have machine room access so there's nothing I could have done. It's probably waiting on parts as it has been off for a few days.
