Shalom. I am familiar with these teachings. Although I do not believe there is a harmonious agreement with the general premise behind dispensational theology, supersessionism (replacement theology) or any of their many motley forms and the Scriptures (Bible 66 books). I can certainly assert that context misalignments are the common culprit behind many misunderstandings that the Body of Messiah makes when interpreting the Torah, Prophets, Writings, and Renewed Covenant. The other two mistakes that these popular teachings within the Body of Messiah often fail to emphasize and rectify, are the lack of “proper” (kosher) Hebrew Word understanding and then the lack of understanding behind the Semitic culture of the period and time with which they were written. Fundamental Protestant and Evangelical theology maintain the position that Yahweh (The Lord God) changed His mind about the Covenant of Torah at the Advent of Yahushua the Messiah's atonement and Ministerial endeavors. While on this Earth, the “Express Image of Yahweh” was once again represented by the Messiah but with a suit of flesh, if you will pardon my borderline crude vernacular. We believe the Messiah made appearances before but not through a Virgin Birth like He did in the Gospel accounts. He most likely appeared to Avraham, Mosheh, Jacob and possibly others as a malak or “messenger”, commonly known as an Angel. A little over 2,000 years ago the prophesied Virgin Birth became not just a promise, but a fulfillment of that promise. The Tanahk (Genesis to Matthew) has given multiple prophetic predictions of this glorious event and certainly should not be coined “Old” for that reason alone. The teachings we often confront within the Body of Messiah have led many of our family astray, not just by their twisted implications within many varied teachings but with direct contradictions that have forced the hand of many “church fathers” to develop queer doctrines that would hopefully reroute the contradictions back to some semblance of harmony with the conflicting texts. These “doctrines” have changed and even morphed over time like a piece of produce in the hot sun. The 40,000 fractured denominations in Evangelical and Protestant circles alone testify to that! The Writings of the Bible are an Eastern Document that is written in Hebrew. The Renewed Covenant was also written in Hebrew and then translated to Greek. As time passed the Scriptures were eventually translated into all languages to reach the Northern Kingdom of Israel that was exiled by Yahweh in 721 BCE after they were crushed by the Assyrian Army. 2 Kings, Chronicles and Hosea 1, a little known and taught fact. Again, the Messiah came to regather the exiles of the Northern Kingdom that were scattered to the four winds, first Spiritually through His First coming and then literally (physically) at His second coming in the near future. Even today many are still known as Gentiles (the nations by unbelief and or by improper teachings both within and outside the Body of Messiah). Matthew 15:24, Ephesians 2:11-22, Ezekiel, Zephaniah 3:20 36:24, Deuteronomy 4:27, 28:64, Romans 10:1 to name a very few of a great many verses concerning our heritage, ancestry, and future. The Scriptures also confidently declare that the Torah was renewed and then completely restored to our people. (Matthew 5:17-20) which is fitting with what the Messiah said in Matthew 15:24 and what is also declared in Luke 1:32 and verse 33. "Here, the days are coming," says Yahweh, "when I will make a renewed covenant with the house of Isra'el and with the house of Y'hudah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated my covenant, even though I, for my part, was a husband to them," says Yahweh. For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra'el after those days," says Yahweh: "I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people. Jeremiah 31:31-33 and repeated in Ibrim (Hebrews) 8:8-12, and 10:16-17 The Renewed Covenant is the Torah. The Law of Messiah and the Law of Moses are truly one and the same. “For if you believed Moses, you would have believed Me, since he wrote about Me. “But if you do not believe his writings, how shall you believe My words?” John 5:46, 47 Luke 9:33, 16:31, Malachi 4:4-5 “If these ordinances depart from before me,” says Yahweh, “then the offspring of Israel also will cease from being a nation before me forever.” Yahweh says: “If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done,” says Yahweh. “Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that the city will be built to Yahweh from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner. The measuring line will go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb, and will turn toward Goah. The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, will be holy to Yahweh. It will not be plucked up or thrown down any more forever.” Yahweh our God speaking through the Prophet Jeremiah in Chapter 31 verses 36-40. “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has one who judges him: the Word that I have spoken shall judge him in the last day. Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life.1 Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.” John 12:48-50. See also John 3:18-19, 7:16 and Matthew. 19:17 Nor did Paul disqualify Torah observance for the gentiles who were learning who they truly were in Messiah. But like so many “wolves” in sheep’s clothing, teach, many have been told something entirely contrary to what Yahushua the Messiah taught. A half-truth and twist, if you will. 2 Peter 3:14-17 confirms this fact as does the entire tone of Scripture with proper context in mind. As upsetting as that is to the larger portion of those who hold to Evangelical and Protestant Theology, there is no disputing these truths unless you hold fas to your traditional teachings and not to the authenticity of the Torah, Prophets, Writings and true message within the renewed Covenant. “Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men.” And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition. “For Mosheh (Moses) said, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ “But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me, is Qorban (that is, a gift),” Mark 7:8-11. We have all been warned but yet many in the Body of Messiah continue to interpret Scripture for themselves by twisting the contexts and meanings as if many were literally blind and deaf. They continue to disregard the true "Good News" within the Scriptures. Those of us in the Messianic Community reach out in empathy as we watch in horror as history repeats itself. Isaiah 6:10. "And the Spirit entered into me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet. And I heard Him who was speaking to me. And He said to me, “Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Yisra’ěl, to a nation of rebels who have rebelled against Me. They and their fathers have transgressed against Me, until this day. “And the children are stiff of face and hard of heart to whom I am sending you, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus said the Master Yahweh’ “And they - whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are a rebellious house - shall know that a prophet has been in their midst. Ezekiel 2:2-5 Who are we? This is the Messiah Yahushua (Yeshua, Jesus) speaking and no, he did not stutter. “And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ěl.” Matthew 15:24 "Also, if you belong to the Messiah, you are seed (zera in Hebrew which translates to sperm) of Avraham and heirs according to the promise." The Apostle Paul in His letter to Galatia, chapter 3 and verse 29. See also Ephesians chapter 2:11-22 specifically. Physical and Spiritual Isra'el, in other words. As was prophesied from the Torah, prophets, and writings. Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets." Ezekiel 37 is an elaborate and extraordinarily powerful prophecy of the Northern and Southern Kingdom of Isra'el being regathered before and at the second coming of Messiah. But I digress. The History of our People cannot be expounded on in a simple comment or even a brief article! Amĕin and Shalom 🕎
