Lovely isn’t it, and the barrels are always pointing at the floor. Absolutely hate seeing people slam the action together like it’s a damn race

I know this is an old video, but its still very relevant, I found it a couple of weeks ago, I took up shooting two years ago, I learnt to shoot Gun Up tbh , but I've been missing quite a few simply because I didn't see them in time, usually those fast and near low crosses, So when I found this I decided to practice it every morning for 15mins before going to work, I was all over the place at first, but now its coming together, its Trophy Day at the Club this weekend so I will be putting it into real shooting practice...I hope it makes a difference to my scores!.

If you're absolutely dominant in the left eye it may be worth considering shoulder change. If you are not ABSOLUTELY dominant in left eye it will INCREASE visual confusion. Simple advice: stay on right shoulder, pick target up both eyes open and squint/dim the left eye as the gun comes to shoulder. If trap shooting, close the eye as you have completed mount and come down into ready position (same applies for trap like targets shot gun-up). Some can't squint/wink - then patch glasses out on left.

Awesome.... love your enthusiasm - I just got into sporting clays, here in Australia.... Just got a B725 32" Sporter, love it.....I love FITSAC..... Would you ever do an over view of this discipline?.... the rules, the competitions, tips & tricks, the stars, the courses and the categories, i.e., teal, duck etc.... p.s, I don't like those American comps that shoulder the gun before calling "pull" - not in the spirit of simulated clay shooting, me reckons.... cheers

The bird, the bird and nothing but the bird. Stare each target to death, focus is sustained on the bird or target NOT THE BEAD, if focus comes back to bead you will stutter in the swing, stop swinging and probably shoot high too.

The patch/spot needs to be well positioned - just over pupil and iris with head in normal shooting position on stock and allowing for a little head lifting and sideways movement - 3/4" diameter spot well placed should do the job. If well place you can use two eyes for social interaction and for watching target until the head/gun come into final shooting position.

I see another advantage ,by shifting the trunk forward you don't have to pull the shotgun back to you as far saves time

Good instructor. When you push forward, do you also bend your front knee?
@gazpal428 жыл бұрын
It's normal to keep the leading leg straight, but not lock the knee.
@luisferreira61894 жыл бұрын
Yes but only slightly
@yardleypen3 жыл бұрын
@@luisferreira6189 I normally keep the front leg straight but relaxed when game or clay shooting. However, for trap, or trap-like, birds I may adopt a slightly squarer stance and unlock the front knee.
