The forest of Athel loren is actually trying to expand constantly. It's only held in check by the wardstones surrounding it's borders and they require constant maintenance by Asrai Spell weavers. If one of these stones fails the forest almost immediately expands like a tidal wave and has to be magically wrestled back in. The Asrai do this not to spare the poor Bretonians who would die by the thousands in such event, but because the rapid expansion would throw the weave (The natural cycle of life and death) and the forest itself out of balance.

I love your videos! I am very new to warhammer but not new to total war. You videos have helped explain to me what each faction is since I did not even know what the chaos was. So far my favorite race is the wood elves since I am a huge fan of nature, and love the idea of a magical forest fighting back and being it's own guardian. I hope they add them in the total war game. If those bretonians are somewhat friendly to the forest then I will have to play them if the wood elves are not available.

In Total War: Warhammer, Athel Loren is simply depicted as an inaccessable part of the map labeled "unknown". This is quite unique for the area, as all other regions are named. I'm sensing the Wood Elves being DLC! :D

Skavenblight is also in the game in a similar fashion. There is an area between estalia and tilea that you can't move through and on the map there is seemingly a ruined city. Nevermind the fact that the frequently appearing "disappearance" events denote a strange "triangle shape" being left behind. The symbol of the skaven.

problem is that those areas are patheticaly small. And there's also a third one in the south of the badlands that looks like a undead corupted delta, so posibly khemri and the tomb kings area? It is full of what looks like tombs and ruins. But the small areas problem still stands, you can barely fit one city in there, let alone and entire province, or in the case of loren and khemri at least 2 or 3 provinces to do justice to the elfs/tomb kings kingdoms. That said: I can't wait for the Tomb Kings DLC. Simply because both the famous legendary lords of that faction are absolute badasses. There's Settra, the one character that actualy became even better during the abomination of the End Times, and then the're the awesome Queen Khalida, vampire hunting badass and all around one of the few nice people in the warhammer setting.

I noted Athel is relatively small, but there are other small regions that fit gameplay wise, such as Marienburg and Nuln. Karak Norn has roughly the same surface in size as Athel Loren on the map and is also divided into 3 sections.

Perhaps the death and rebirth of the Wood Elf Gods is the possession of two Wood Elves, and the possession does end, but ends repeatedly, with the effects of Chaos in essence turning time into a year long circle. From the Gods perspective it would be an eternity of alternate realities, in the real world spread 1 year apart, occurring simultaneously. As they are Gods though they have acted upon all of such realities already, meaning that what appears to mortals as a continuing physical existence is merely the manifestation of fate, decided instantaneously by the Chaos Gods/ Daemons at one moment during the original possession of the Wood Elves offered. This would fit the time altering effects of the warp particularly well, and mean that the power of the original possession is not so much limited in terms of time but in terms of area and power, with the Elven Gods being limited only to the immediate area in which they were created, and having no effect outside of that area.

I would be happy if all the races were included when you got all 3 expansions. I don't want to but $12 DLC for a certain faction or some special units. When they do that it feels like they are selling the game in pieces. which I think is stupid. hey, may I ask u a question? U said Ariel and Orion die every year. In my understanding only Orion dies and therefore needs a new body each year, whereas Ariel only spends the winter in her chamber,the eternal oak, sleeping, waiting for her husband to be summoned again. Thats why she was able to stop the Treeman Coeddil. He was waiting for her and Orion to disappear in the winter and started killing Orions soldiers. But blood of elves right in front of the eternal oak stoped Ariels sleep and awakened her early. So she cant be realy dead, she just enjoys a classical hibernation/winter sleep. I hope u understand my points, considering that english is not my first language. The information I described come from the Wood Elves Army Book 6th Edition. So what I am saying might be total bullshit and outdated. I would just like to know, whether it is or not? Thanks for any answer and for your Video :)

I would love to see the wood elves come out in Warhammer: Total War. And instead of having the wood elves fight conventionally on the open field, they should use guerrilla tactics using ambushes and surprise attacks in the woods. For example, there is a Chaos army marching through the woods. Then hundreds of wood elves with hoods and bandannas covering their lower face looking like hooded ninjas hiding behind trees and bushes. When those ugly Chaos death worshipping garbage enters the kill zone, the wood elves unleash volleys of arrows into the Chaos ranks and kill a lot of demon worshippers in the ambush. Then the wood elves charge from their position and skirmish with the chaos with their swords. And the tree creatures that are standing harmlessly as normal looking trees come alive and back up the wood elves if the chaos summons any big deamon creatures as a ambush like counter attack. That would be awesome. What does anyone else think?

I think that, rather than the firest spirits being daemons, that they are merely embodied magic, not necesserily from the realm of chaos, but instead the warp, and this magic housing the bodies of dead trees. I also think that the theory of them being Daemons is a little brittle, seeing that the realm of chaos is the housing of gods created from all the negative emotions of all living beings. The sprites coming directly from the warp and not from the realm of chaos, and the realm of athel loren is merely a place where the veil between the warp and the material world is extremely thin. Note that the Realm of Chaos and the Warp are not two seperate planes, but the realm of chaos does not consist of the whole of the warp.
