Thanks for sharing! Helpful. I agree about the pen. It can also come in handy if you need to leave a note for a friend. The bungee chord for the headlamp strap is lighter but not really comfortable. Nitecor makes a headlamp that comes with a lightweight strap. I like the Salt Stick tablets for electrolytes.

Pretty similar to mine. I always carry a small dropper bottle of iodine. I use it on every scratch or cut, especially here in Australia. The last thing you want is an infection from a small injury.

Why iodine over rubbing alcohol?
@sparrowflying8643 жыл бұрын
@@SlyDz420 I learned in a blood borne pathogens class that rubbing alcohol doesn't work unless you rub it. It's the rubbing action that kills the bacteria. So probably wouldn't want to do that to a wound or a cut lol. Idione kills on contact and doesn't burn to much. I think that's the difference.

@@SlyDz420 Alcohol is just a surface cleaning solution. Iodine is an antibacterial solution used by surgeons through to soldiers to prevent infection. I have watched it being injected into puncture wounds to get it right to the bottom. Want to do that with alcohol? The right tool for the right job.

@@SlyDz420Alcohol has been shown to retard wound healing. I use Wound Healing Cream.

I like the term 'possibles' far better than EDC. I call my kit my POM Kit (Peace Of Mind).

You mentioned you don’t carry a compass due to having map and watch. What type of watch do you wear?
