The Kent 16T compares to the Chicago Model 6. For me, the Chicago Model 6 is far superior and the winner. The Kent 81T moustache comb is barely a nose wide. The Kent 87T folding moustache comb is the ONLY Kent I can recommend. I didn't think I'd like the Chicago Model 2 moustache comb, but I am very pleased with it. The Kent 2T has teeth 12mm (1/2") long. This barely gets through my trimmed moustache, let alone my coarse and VERY curly beard hair. I can't recommend it at all. I ordered the Kent OT, but realized that it was far too small to be useful as a "pocket comb" and cancelled the order. The Chicago Models 3, 10, 8, and 14 are on my "wish list".

I don't seem to get static with with my kent combs and my favorite to detangle is the 16T. Wide and short gap teeth. If I would get static I would try the Chicago combs but no need to buy any at the time. I'm learning to save my money for more oils balms and butters lol. Great video I hear a lot of great things from chicago combs but also negatives just like every other product. Everyone has their preference. Please make more reviews such as these. People need more info besides just oils and balms. I know crushers crushes it though. 👍

Excellent! Outstanding detail about the combs and your experience. Looked to me like the #5 teeth were about the same distance apart as the #1, but #5 teeth were wider, which may account for the difference in use. The #6 appeals to me. Looks like it has fine and coarse teeth, like the usual combs such as Kent. A question, if I may, based on disappointment with combs "infused" and "professional" but seamed nevertheless. Can you see, or better yet feel, a ledge along the spine or teeth? Run your thumbnail across the width of the spine, and the width of the teeth. Is it smooth (like a Kent or quality wood, or perhaps polished metal) or does your nail run against a seam of material? I don't see anything on my monitor, and suspect it is smooth, but I'd like your assessment. Really good job. You covered just about everything one could ask about a beard comb.

Great question! But 1st the tine spacing is different between No.1 & 6. The no. 6 has the closest tines and widest tines on each side between those 2 combs. The no.1 falls in the middle of those for spacing. And the No.7 pick is slightly wider than that as a pick should be. And the metal No.5 is wider than them all. As far as the ridges... No ridges on mine after checking. From previously speaking with the company I understand that Chicago Combs are made, finished, and inspected to ensure the combs are ultra smooth with no snag. It’s all about performance with these combs! Some of the Overseas combs are just punched and dumped into the market. In terms of non Chinese combs, I believe Kent combs are saw cut but aren’t finished on the inside. I think that's the difference I am feeling. Thanks Leo.
@leosigman72395 жыл бұрын
@@OGs_Playground My understanding is Kent combs are saw-cut and hand-polished. Mine are smooth between the teeth, but I've had them a long time and they may just have worn smooth. I appreciate your smoothness and manufacturing information. I've a number of wood combs, and while each is consistent, they differ in the width and design of the teeth, and the space between teeth. I also may use them differently than you do; I keep the combs at an angle between 90º and 45º from the plane of the beard or skin.To me, it looked as if you were combing nearly parallel to your whiskers.
@OGs_Playground5 жыл бұрын
@@leosigman7239 I use different angles to comb my beard. The purpose of this vid wasn't a full routine. Just an overview of the Chicago combs. Normally after a full comb through, to finish, I go at a very light angle on the outside layer to allow the spine to assist in laying the hairs down where I want them.

Can women use these combs, too? I like the idea of the sturdiness of a metal comb.
