This is ridiculous. Think of someone living in Texas you couldn’t eat in the summertime and probably the winter time too hot or too cold. Ridiculous. That’s not even taking into account the summertime bugs.

The concept is aesthetically pleasing and it’s beautiful but there would have to be some sort of means of closing it off for 3 reasons: weather, security & I value my privacy!

It's cute, but I would feel uneasy having an open kitchen like that, especially at night. You would have to worry about animals coming onto your porch all the time or worse some homeless person trying to make it their new home.

Steel fencing set in concrete with strains of electric wire at top and mid section prevents bears from climbing over. Cougars can use tree limbs so cut down trees or remove limbs to cut access. Wolves and coyotes will be stopped by fence. 2 guard dogs not pets can help but your thinking is right on especially when you fire up the BBQ.

Depends on where are you living. I'm from Florida and I don't have to worry about that. Maybe racoons. But I think can figure it something to fix that.

OH MY GOSH!!!!! After 10 yrs of looking, dreaming, hoping... I finally found the one I love! This is absolutely beautiful & just what I want! Well, just a little tweeking in the bathroom, but over all the floor plan/layout is perfect! The deck completes it & the price is great! Thank you for sharing.

Open Space Kitchen Den/Deck but only good for the Caribbean, Central/South America, Nice! But not for anywhere the temp drops in winter or even has serious weather of any kind...need shutter's to close off the Kitchen/Deck

Just life experience sometimes my folks had a beautiful deck gated too not a bad neighborhood someone still came and stole their propane tank so I think a full kitchen would be too inviting for unwanted guests too. "Negative" well you just be "positive" till you are robbed or worse too.

Not negative. Just responding based on the experiences that shape our lives. Some people just have a different outlook because they grew up in a certain type of environment. For example, I grew up in the country and that outdoor kitchen is going to be a playground for mice and rats. And if you have those, you’ll have snakes. Nobody wants to open a cupboard and find a copperhead digesting the mouse that just wiped out your cookies.

I agree. And wouldn't it be wonderful to have this gorgeous home!!? BUT, for those of us who DO live in all seasons, the open air kitchen and living area would definitely need to be closed. I didn't see that as an option but surely it could be done closed?? Not everyone is lucky enough to live in tropical areas where there is no snow or cold weather.

Such a great use of space! I can relate to the challenge of designing small spaces, as I took on the challenge of converting my 200 sq ft garage into a tiny house last summer! I made a video about it to hopefully inspire others to do the same!

Can see this for my parents who are 70 this year. Fantastic template, really functional, love that it’s all one level perfectly suitable for aged, all spaces are simple, easy for mum to maintain & clean, I would extend the outdoor living area so I can bring the kitchen away from the wall, add a walk in pantry for extra storage, enclose with screens, glass & shutters to keep out snakes & crawlies (necessary for Qld Australia) , pop in a wood burner stove for ambience warmth in winter. A built in ironing station, washer & dryer mounted to save mum bending down, An outdoor fire pit, sauna, hot spa & plunge pool for all season use, 10KW Solar with battery storage, 3 x 20,000 litre water tanks means off grid utility bill free & throw in a glass house & veg gardens & carport, garden shed, They will have everything they deserve and need on a tiny acreage plot. Thanks for an inspiring design! Edit: Gee I can’t forget air conditioning!!!

Interesting design. It's basically a large deck with several small enclosed rooms housed within it. This would be a nice format if I lived in the desert or possibly by the ocean, but down south, where it's warmer for more of the year.

This is something I would buy. I'd just change out that table for a cabinet/eating bar. I'd also add a sliding door between the kitchen and 2nd bedroom so that section could be closed off as a master suite.

That open kitchen will invite every insect, critter and animal in your area. Plus in the winter will not be pleasant and summer is going to make that fridge run extra hard to stay cool. I’m saying this from Texas where I don’t need to be greeted by rattlesnakes and scorpions when getting my morning coffee.

That kitchen/family room would have to be enclosed! Open air in the South in the United States?? Dream on! ...too hot, too humid, too many damned bugs and snakes in the warm/hot months!! That's 9-10 months depending on where one lives. And no bathtubs in either bathroom?? That's a big NO for me. Quite a few things I'd change for sure!

All good and a great use of space, except that the fridge and kitchen cabinets are outdoors, not much security and the guest bat is basically an outhouse. enclose with some glass and screen and count me in.

Kitchen has to be enclosed for me. To many bugs coming inside for the lights, flies for the food. Heat is horrible, cold months. Even if its nice yr around. Bugs alone is to much for me. Lets think about thunderstorms, tropical storms, hail , high winds heavy rain. Oh and you are cooking and someone just walks inside your door less house and sits down. Nope. Heat and air is a must for me. And large seamless windows that give the same look but enclosed with a front door for security and privacy. This is my vote

This is 400 square feet is that what you're saying closing out the kitchen because I'm not going to be I know I wouldn't be in my kitchen in the middle of the night freezing cold in the winter time with no walls around me to go and get a snack I mean that's crazy and is that supposed to be the living room the part that's on the deck I guess if the deck was enclosed in case in walls like it should be I would have to say yes this is this is a cool place there has to be walls for it to work you dig
