Bad for me too, haven’t bagged a squirrel yet and I’ve been out 3 times already since opening day 😬

Is that a gamo rifle? I bought one to be able to use for squirrels and I can not get the thing accurate for nothing.

It is a Gamo rifle. If I can offer advice, upgrade the scope and try lots of pellets. Air guns, like any hunting gun, have a pellet preference. air guns are more tempered with their choices. ive have 6 or 7 different 22 pellets I tested threw any new gun. I'm not looking for accuracy but grouping. Once I find a pellet that groups well I start to tinker with the scope. I don't shoot past 30 yards with my air guns. if I ever get a more expensive one than sure I can use it. i hope this helps. my air rifle isn't perfect but it has killed in the past.

@@alwaysscouting What kind of scope do you have? or suggest upgrading to? I called customer service and they suggested the gamo redfire so that's what I have been using but maybe I just need to spend a lot more time trying to get groups. I have been able to kill a squirrel but I have also hurt them and had to shoot them like 3 times because it shoots like a 4 inch group. I just want to be able to get the gun to group well enough to get squirrels in one shot.

@@joeldepas9928 okay let me be a nerd for a minute. 4-inch grope can be caused by different verbals. most likely is pellet shape and weight. if you bought your pellets from a sporting store you probably got a sorted tin. tin means the container that holds your pellets. Crossman pellets are decent and Gamo pellets are too. but there sorted meaning they very.... a lot. it might be advertised for 12.6 grains but your pellets can vary from 12.1 to 12.6. then you have the barrel seal problem. basically, some sorted pellets fit snugly in the barrel others might not. meaning from the same tin some pellets allow more or less airflow around them. it's not a huge issue but it can lead to wandering shots. there are two parts to a pellet the head and the skirt. the head is well the head of the pellet. the skirt is the cone the head sits on. if the skirt is deformed slightly air can escape around your pellet. resaluting in slower velocity. with slower feet per second, your pellets will drop or lift creating large spaced gropings. don't worry thou there are more precision pellet manufacturers out there. and the good news is they are cheap too. first, I would suggest using domed pellets. They are the best in terms of aerodynamics. you can bump up the weight of grains as well. however, doing so will drop your velocity or feet per second but a heavy pellet fly's starter. try to stay away from pointy pellets sure they might have better penetration but you're losing grains and aerodynamics. hollow point pellets aren't good at all. They don't deform like a nine-mill bullet. the head basically has an air scoop on the front of it creating drag. they slow down fast....very fast. any pellets with plastic bodies or tips are bad as well. the plastic can separate on impact with an animal or worse. you might be eating plastic squirrels. there are pellet slugs thous are for pcp air guns, not springers. second, don't shoot a dropped pellet even if it fell a foot. led pellets can deform easily. ive done it several times and ended up having barrel seal problems. just a good rule to note. check your pellet skirt to see if it's deformed or not. It is fine for a slight defect but try to avoid it at all costs. third a big mistake people make with airguns and with spring air guns. the scope isn't rated for the spring shake. some box stores sell airguns off the shelf with broken scopes. for my gamo, my scope was broken out of the box. I ended up using a different scop from a different gun company. this is my current scope as of now. just keep in mind this is the new version. it's simple to use. 2 turret system up down and left right. it might help or it might not. I would also recommend googling air gun scopes for spring rifles. don't be afraid to spend 100$ money worth the investment. beeman.com/product/beeman-1512-scope/ now for pellets, my gun like's the crossmen 22. call dome pellets. I get good 1.5-inch gropes at 25 to 30 yd. however again your air rifle might like a Hever pellet. I'll list some pellets and brands down below. pellet list: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.airgundepot.com/jsb-546287.html 18.13 grains and not sorted 20$ www.airgundepot.com/h-and-n-field-target-trophy-22-cal-round-nose-250ct.html 14.66 grains and not sorted 5 to 10 $ www.airgundepot.com/jsb-exact-jumbo-monster-light-22-caliber-20-83-grain-200-count.html 20.83 grains not sorted 15$ - my persanl choice ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would also like to share the link to a video I made about sighting in my air rifle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3TQf36jhM14adU sorry for the long response but I want you to be set instead of struggling. I hope this helps god bless. ps. I'm a certified marksman threw the NRA if you have any questions feel free to ask. if I don't know the answer ill find it.
