DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

Good morning. Thanks for the overall take on the kit. I built this one a couple of years back as a research kit and paint tester for a 1/16 scale RC version of the StuG Ausf lllB. It struck me then what a great and easy build it was. Looks amazing under paint and markings and with the figure added and hatches open to show the interior. The gun breech and sights\controls were a four color paint job all by themselves.

Good review. Thanks. I’ll have to put this Tamiya StuG on my long list of must haves. Love the winterketten! There’s something about a StuG wearing winterketten, it’s almost a must have. Keep up the good work.

Thank you! And I agree, the low profile combined with wide tracks is very cool. I've got a StuH 42 that I have some ostketten for, and I look forward to that one.

Great that Tamiya included some pe and a metal barrel. All too often we have to buy aftermarket sets which pushes the price up yet higher. I’ve just started their type 10 and sadly it comes with mosquito netting. Wtf. Such a nice manufacturer yet they shoot themselves in the foot sometimes. Good overview Evan.

Thank you for posting this video. I just ordered one of the kits. Your putting the spare road wheels on the model made look for some reference photos. I found one photo similar to how you have your mounted. On the real StuG how were these attached. Also I found a couple of photos where the spare road wheels are laying on their sides on the fenders. It appears they aren’t secured in anyway. Your video will help me when I do my kit. Still deciding on which paint brand to use. Definitely will be in Dunkelgrau. Cheers, Larry

@Panzermeister36

Confused......I'm sure the one I built had spring loaded suspension on all the road wheels!!!.....I will check later this evening.
@ottonichols3433
@ottonichols3433 6 жыл бұрын
CW Modelling it is just the four metal spring bits that attach to the front and back. The rest of the suspension kind of lays there. It is what I would call 1/2 working suspension. Built this kit a few years ago and wasn't disappointed but also wasn't blown away. Can't wait to see it painted and weathered Evan!

I finished this one about a month ago. I added the Verlinden engine/compartment. The Verlinden set is made for the older Tamiya stugs. Fit was terrible. The fit of the Stug kit is very good.

im thinking of getting this but should i use a paintbrush to paint it or a spray can? because with the edges i feel ike it would be harder to spray paint but it would take a longer time with a paintbrush so which do you think is best? or maybe should i just get the hetzer

Nice review. I've got a question. Just what's holding the folding part of the left fender? On the real vehicle this is attached to the fender that is gone ?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 6 жыл бұрын
It's attached on with a small lock that's meant to keep it from singing up. I've based this off of a photo with the exact same fender situation, so I guess it's just hanging on barely.
@ennisanderson2719
@ennisanderson2719 6 жыл бұрын
Panzermeister36. I'd definitely say it's "just hanging on" !!! LOL! Well when you have photographic evidence then it's hard to contest it. I'm happy to hear that you're basing it on a photo. I can't wait to see more of it. Great job on the Stug. I'm a big fan of them myself.

Friulmodel ATL-03 is what you're looking for. Alternatively, ATL-04 would also work, but they are a slightly later type. I'm sure I've seen them on this vehicle type, but only on vehicles that survived in Russia after winter 1941/42.

@Panzermeister36

Yes - it shows what I recommend one do to the kit to improve it. These reviews are focused on the builder, so I show what I felt was good about the kit, what was bad about it, and what I recommend one do to improve it. Otherwise it wouldn't be a very helpful review...I'd just be stating issues without showing any solution to them! You should be prepared to do something to a kit other than just follow the instructions like a zombie...otherwise are you a modeller or just an assembler?
