Post COP Youth Workshop, Yobe State, Northern Nigeria
This event was led by our Global Ambassador Ibrahim Inusa and connected over 61 young people and multiple stakeholders from different sectors of society including Government, academic experts, civil society, and fellow youth climate activists across Yobe State and beyond. This one-day workshop and consultation focused on how best we can strengthen partnerships and collaboration toward climate action in the State especially among youths/Youth-led organizations
A major outcome of the workshop was the support from the Yobe State office and government officials to work with young people and promote innovative ideas for tackling issues of desertification, deforestation, and drought in the state. Other agencies such as the National Environmental Standard and Regulatory Agency, and NESREA Yobe state officials have also shown an interest in partnering with young changemakers in the state to help promote agro-climate resilience. 90% of the participants responded that the event met their expectations and their knowledge and level of understanding about COP has increased.
