other than australia , bangladesh home series. i don't remember when batting crumbles. The problem start when india made rank turners,which made opposition spinners like world class bowlers. the England series earlier this year, we saw many batters scored runs like jaiswal,gill,rohit even duckett,root etc beacuse we play on our strength that our spinner can take wickets on decent spin track rather than focus on oppposition weakness. when we focus on opposition weakness rather than own strength then we lost. same happened in wc23 final.

I mean if in retaliation of this series, ashwin and jadeja are dropped or forced to take retirement, then one thing would become very crystal clear that other two senior players have become bigger than game. Ash and jaddu both have saved india many times in past few years. Ash was even player of the series against. He just had this Bangladesh series. Jaddu has also performed well enough.

The Indian team needs a test player like Pat Cummins who is good with swing bowling and can bat for hours. We are so dependent on spin all rounders. Every other international team has at least one fast bowler who can score handy runs. For the last few years, our country has not been able to produce a player like that. The closest I feel has been Shardul Thakur. It was so evident that we would lose the match when the sixth wicket fell down.

Hey, I have been watching your podcasts since few weeks. You have a unique way of delivering. And about latest series I have few things that I could clearly make a note of: 1. Sarfaraz khan doesn't seem to have many shots on the offside around cover and mid off, even on midon side too. He seems to have a restricted game currently with lot of sweeps, cuts and late cuts. 2. About Virat Kohli, he seemed to trust his defence but one thing I could see while defending is, he is not defending on backfoot at all. The balls he got out on, he had his leg stretched fully and still he wasn't even close to pitch of the ball. Also he seemed to get in shell. 3. Many Indian players who were backing defence, seemed to go in Shell, none of them stepped out even trying to play along the ground. I mean they are either very proactive and over attacking or completely on opposite end of it, defending in a shell. What are your views? I think Sarfaraz, Virat and Rohit might have great Australia tour because their game suits it. We might struggle in Bowling as Siraj doesn't seem to in great form and Akashdeep is a very new bowler. We are going to be very dependent on Bumrah. If somehow we end up bowling well, we might have a great chance against Australia.

Watching cricket since 18 years all i can say is this point of ICT had to come someday but it came in this manner was disappointing. Man first of all love your analysis and the way you talk about the problems .... even I was thinking that we should have different teams for different formats.... yes now it feels that there is need of rahane and pujara but we still can make players like them ... india may cricketer bhi bouth hain aur bcci kr pass paisa bhi ... rohit ,virat ka form is questionable.... like as you said ki baaki samay sympathy hota hain Lakin iss baar fans naraz hain ... pheli match haarne ke bad laga ki bouth tagda comeback hoga Lakin nothing happened ..... Shubham bhai being a virat fan its very tough , some months ago all were praising for the comeback of virat and rohit in t20s , but now all are pushing them to take retirement from tests , yes its very tough to back your favorite player but at the end of day he looks clueless against spin and the only reason for that is ipl conditions , flat tracks , small grounds, if you mistimed it you will be rewarded and its very sad when i heard from you guys that he is getting out in nets again and again in front of the club bowlers , saddest one!! . Talking about rohit and virat career , their strength is fast bowling and if they perform in Australia they will be entertained further otherwise looks like champions trophy will be the end of both players . Despite of all this , Siraj should not be the second bowler with bumrah , he does not have pace , not length, he is a kind of bowler who performed in familiar conditions, akash deep should be the second fast bowler and the team should look on the other bowlers because apart from bumrah and akash, I can't see anyone in the line !! If you gave your opinion then it will means a lot to me !! As you mentioned in the last of the video

just want to point out one thing indias batting coach is abhishek nayar whohas played 0 test matches 3 odi matches in his whole careeer. what coaching would he give to the greats like virat and rohit . players like gill jaiswal who has played more matches than him who have tons of more runs than him how will he suggest kohli to play top class spin bowling if he in his own career has not played any??

Going forward, if you want to know, Gill has to open and Rohit has to go back to number 6. Kyunki, agar Rohit aur Kohli abhi retire karenge from Test, India will have a very inexperienced batting order. Uss se faida kam, nuksan zyada hai. Aur VK needs to go back to nets and practice with spin. Machine lagao, kuch bhi karo, option nahi hai. Rohit will not be able to change his style of play. He is not Sachin ki Aapne stance, footwork pe kam karega. Either ask him to retire from test or go down order. VK can’t retire for the next 3 years atleast, otherwise poora Indian batting will have no senior batting players; that’s needed atleast in the dressing room to boost the morale of the youngsters. Baaki Washy can replace Sarfaraz in the batting, as Ashwin and Jaddu mein se ek will play and Indian will be playing 3 pacers most likely. Or they can play KL but if he fails don’t flush him down. If you play KL or Sarfaraz, either should get atleast 3 tests out of 5. My playing XI for Perth test: (There is a rumour it will be spin friendly) Jaiswal Easwaran Gill VK Rahul Pant Washy Ash (Jaddu in case we want a left handed spinner to mix things up) NKR (you can even put him ahead of Ash or Washy.) Akash Deep Bumrah. I think adding NKR from the start will be good. And as Boom will lead most likely we will play aggressive cricket.
