Thanks for sharing this with us Nancy. Sending you much soothing energy. So glad that you are ok. My father was a woodworker, and he inherited his tools from the man he apprenticed carpentry from. His mentor even carved faces and other intricacies in hardwood furniture. My father had a fire in his workshop and lost the majority of his tools. I have great empathy for the loss of your son's workshop. And deepest condolences to all who lost loved ones and are affected by this hurricane. Keep us posted on how you are doing and know you are very loved and supported!

My heart is with u!! I used to live in a flood prone area... the Tweed Valley, north of Lismore (New South Wales, Australia), which has had many devastating floods, & have seen things similar to what you're describing. Quite a few main roads were cut, with some towns either cut off or residents having to take the long way round to get anywhere. May everyone unite to help each other thru this very difficult time in your country... xxx

So glad you are safe. Been thinking of you and hoping all was well. Sorry about your son's shop and tools. Snap On tools are guaranteed - he should be able to get replacements - some even free I think. My husband has snap on tools and has gotten free replacements. I have worried about you as I saw all the damage around you. We had flooding here in Vermont this past July on the same day as flooding the year before. In our town we had a lot of roads wash away but other towns lost homes and businesses too. Our towns are like yours built on waterways and in valleys because of the mountains. Thank you for sharing, Nancy. I've been thinking about you a lot, and ginger fae as well. My great-niece and her bf were in Swannanoa so they were forced to leave. My sister and her family live in Greenville, SC, but their homes weren't affected so my great-niece went there. The devastation is very sad. Your son sounds like a gifted furniture maker. I have no doubt he'll find something once the mud dries. People do seem to come together in these types of situations, which is heartening. Sending support, Nancy!
