Post-Hurricane Michael Snorkel and Tour at St. Andrews State Park

Visited St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach this past March with my Daughter to see the condition of the park six months after Hurricane Michael made landfall. Buildings and structures still showed signs of damage and workers could be seen making repairs. The water was a chilly 66°, but I did snorkel wearing only a rashguard swim shirt and swim shorts. Even though there wasn't much going on under the water besides Sheepshead and Mullet.. the swim was exhilarating! We also walked the beach and jetty and took in the sights. This included a WWII gun turret now visible on the Gulf side of the beach and the previously buried rocks extending out from the jetty parallel to the beach. Both exposed due to the heavy winds and surge from Hurricane Michael. Snorkeling in Panama City Beach Florida is a wonderful experience, please visit and support this community of Panama City and Panama City Beach.

Welcome. I only started visiting St. Andrews State Park and the PCB area a couple of years ago. One of my favorite places and a wonderful spot to snorkel. The impact of Michael on PCB and Mexico Beach is terrible. Stay strong.

I miss that beautiful white sand. I am surprised that the beaches around there are not more famous because of what I have found to be the nicest sand anywhere in the world. Hope the water warms up soon so snorkelling is more enjoyable for you.
