I had this done about 4 years ago. I wasn’t given any instructions other than put this cream on twice a day. Nothing about cold compresses. My face felt like it was literally on fire. There was no A,B,C, or D list of anything given to me. Nothing! I was a raw weeping mess for at least 10 days and a full 6 weeks until I could put makeup on and leave my home. My poor daughter was absolutely horrified and kept calling them and they just said, that’s normal. They gave enough cream for 4 days. The worst part was after all of that pain, shaking uncontrollably and throbbing, they had removed a Cupid’s bow. I’m so thankful your patients have you and won’t go through the living hell I went through. God Bless!

Doc I had full face fractional co2 16 days ago and I LOVE it! Sadly I think it has exasperated my minor festoons by my cheeks making my results look not so good. I had my follow up with my surgeon today and I was telling her I kinda feel like it is delayed filler migrating and she disagreed and says it is festoon. 😞 I just want to enjoy my new face! Do you have any thoughts on this. Could it be residual swelling that will take time to go down or is there something we can do?? I believe you said on your website this is good way to treat them Thoughts ? They are small but brighter than my skin tone lines/lumps

Impossible to say, but your surgeon should be able to guide you. Most things heal in my experience.

Dr. Joe you are one of the most informative doctors beside Davin Lim and we need more of that because I think many people are mislead about treatments and often disappointed. I am 56 and trying to find a doctor here on long island that does the CO2 laser but there are not many at all.....They all want to do multiple fraxel or fractionated treatments (Maybe the RePair would work?) but I don't think the results would be the same, yet I am so afraid of being scarred by an ablative laser. I have very fine, hardly noticeable upper lip lines on the left side of my upper lip , but on the right, I have a long line from my lip up to my nose which is quite ugly, along with a couple of smaller lines on that side as well.The rest of my face is not really wrinkled except for some lines under my eyes. I am a non smoker my entire life and I stay out of the sun. My Wedding is in May 2019 and I would have liked to have these lines smoothed out ..... can you give me some advice and your opinion? I also saw you do a laser on a male patient's neck here on KZbin and the result was amazing..... I have a scar on my inner right cheek from a mole removal and scar revision done 5 years ago. Aside from cutting my face open and re suturing it to make this look better, which I do not want to go through again, it was recommended to use fillers in my upper cheek to lift the skin to stretch the scar so it's not as noticeable. I don't think that is the answer either and I refuse to pay for something that will do nothing to benefit me. Part of the scar looks white, but when direct light hits my face, it looks like a dark shadow with a bit of an edge and I think it's unsightly. Plus there is a puff of skin at the bottom of the incision line (dog ear I guess) and I'm afraid to have it cut out because it will make the original scar look longer and I will have more shadowing. I know you cannot tell much unless you see photos, but I think you can get an idea. What is your opinion ? Thank you.... Lisa V.

I had the Active RX and am on day 5. I did not experience the yellow oozing and crusting but was quite red and swollen. I am now peeling and flaking and hopefully can wear make up in two more days. I very much appreciate your detailed explanation of what to expect regarding recovery. I greatly under estimated what that would actually entail. Your video should be required viewing before undergoing this or similar procedures. Thanks for explaining it in real world terms. I wish I would have seen this before my procedure so I was more prepared for the reality of recovery.

Doc I had fractional co2 laser 5 months ago and I got very good results. There are days that I see really tight under eyes but a couple days a month I see some minor laxity peeking back through. Does this procedure have a waxing and waning process?? I am going to have another at six months. It did take me about 14 days to heal so Dr Rostami did an aggressive treatment. I just wanted to know if any of your patients have mentioned this to you? Thank doc ❤
@jniamtuiii5 ай бұрын
The healing process can peak and trough before it equalizes after several months. Make sure to communicate with your doc.

Thanks doc. Yes I have been telling her this but I guess nobody else has had this issue. Most days it’s ok. Like today 😊 who knows what tomorrow will bring. Aug is my six month mark and I’ll set a date for another treatment just to get the skin tighter under the eyes a try to eliminate a little extra skin off the upper lids. Unfortunately I have ocd 😂so I pay extra close attention to details So I will assume by your response I’m not crazy seeing this and this happens to some ? When do you find this procedure peaks?

Doc one more question. I’m 17 days out from co2. Some days I see beautiful perfect no laxity under my eyes but twice through my healing process I have seen a small amount of laxity sneaking back in the morning but gone by afternoon 🤦♀️. Is there some waxing and waning in this process as we heal?

Doc I have a medical question you might know the answer to Co2 laser is supposed to be able to build collagen for 3-6 months which is when you can expect to see your final results. BUT what if you had a total hysterectomy many years ago and not taking HRT ? How is it possible to build collagen when hormone production plays a huge role in your skin. Thanks in advance Pam

Hi Dr. Joe😃 How long after a CO2 treatment do you see results? And how many treatments does one need, like deep lip lines?

You see results immediately. some wrinkles disappear, deeper ones may need more treatment. Some never go away. It is an improvement, not a cure :)

Dr. Niamtu - I have had IPL treatments for brown spots from Canadian dermatologist with long histories. Unfortunately, I got no results. A top second dermatologist who now instructs in the medical dermatology program at one of our universities said, "Well, if it's deep enough in the dermis - it won't move." UGH! Can Laser Resurfacing go deeper than IPL? Thanks
@jniamtuiii5 жыл бұрын
Epidermal pigmentation is usually easy to remove, dermal pigmentation can be much harder or sometimes impossible. The laser is much more effective than IPL but has much longer recovery
