Yes, happened to me too. I use EP, vader, piett, tarkin and thrawn, amazing turnmeter gain, lots of damage due to piett. But vader autokilling culling blade was key to keeping that TM train running, now its very hard, specially in p4 where tenacity of clones and jedi is ridiculously high

Man this has really taken a lot of the theorycrafting magic out of GACs. The best moments in this game came from using non-GLs to counter GLs when you were running low on teams.

No, the event isn't easier. He may not hit as hard, but he recovers protection plenty faster in Tier 4, and Tier 3 is more subseptible to RnG now because Asajj gets more turns out from the reduced damage, thus has more changes for an infinite stun lock.

Vader is an accessible character for every player, the game throws him at you and has always been a fan favourite. By nerfing him so much newer players reaching end game might be turned off carrying on by loosing the 1st strong character they get this way

One of which was Darth Vader whose zeta and relic materials carried me 250+ places in squad arena and wins me so may duels against higher tier/power teams. That might change depending on how good Lord Vader is but those requirements might not be possidle if you're just unlocking GAS since you need a guild to do Heroic Rancor, or just pay a bunch...

Then you can use your full power on offense and actually try using some of those teams you don't get to try a lot.

I remember when theorycrafting was a thing. They've slowly pulled that away more and more until it's totally gone. It was one of the most fun parts of SWGOH, to put together crazy teams and try things out. Now everyone has their specific team and that team can only beat teams XY&Z if you try anything else you're gonna lose. The game is a grind, which is normal but now everything about it is 100% predictable, which I don't think is good for such a slow paced game

@@Atomosphere It should be a very similar strategy, since Arc basically does the same thing as Ahsoka (assist and dispel buffs). Just try to get Arc to give command to either Rex or Fives because they'll be taking turns more frequently than echo, and you've basically got the same team!

[Ahsoka removes crit Immunity from Rex's TM gain, Echo does AoE to activate Holdo's taunt, Ahsoka assists to remove that taunt, Fives calls GAS to assist, then GAS does AoE, dazes Finn and the first special kills Finn without damage immunity activating. Then without the mass assists and counters from Finn the team has no damage and I just kill everyone one by one.] Is there a more effective strategy with Arc (Maybe killing Finn isn't the ideal way to win)? It always felt like Arc had too little DPS at the start compared to Ahsoka (Arc's turret does more overall, but Ahsoka does more on the initial turns due to assisting on every special move).

I can beat most non-ult JML, which seems the most prevalent in my shard... I have been using SEE, DR, Malak, Wat and Armourer, but Wat and Armourer generally die before they get their first non-bonus turn. I'm 3 ult mats away from his ult and getting very hyped for that.

I think JKR ,DR and Malak are great, fun characters that are worth farming, forming great teams and are also needed for GL teams or GL counters. However,it seems to be a must to farm GLs post-update so you may go after SLKR directly,but that would cost you a long time staying in lower ranks of any game mode until you get him to high relic

I think Darth Vader would be probably the Dark Side Original Trilogy GL if the developers shouldn't have been created him earlier and made him available for everyone. But he is in the game already so they went with pre-suit Vader. I think the other reason is Sequel GLs came first, ( however Luke and Palpatine aka Jedi Master Luke and 'Sith Eternal Emperor' would fit as Original Trilogy GLs too) they just created the Prequel GLs recently, so they needed a Light Side and Dark Side GL for Prequels too. Dooku was powerful, but weaker than pre-suit Vader, Sidious/Palpatine was mostly in the background(and he is already a GL) , Darth Maul only appeared in Ep1 if we don't count Clone Wars, so there wasn't too much choice who could have been the Dark Side Prequel GL.

I think one more important note that's been lost in this nerf shuffle is the damage this has been done to the Challenge Rancor Raid. A lot of us out there only have one or maybe two galactic legends. Our ability to do damage in the challenge raid with characters like Vader, Jedi Knight Luke, General Skywalker, etc. has been severely limited. I would love if you could do a recap of some of the better FTP raid teams post-nerf.

Thank you for the honest opinion, and as always, for the top tier content. I feel the same way as you do, but I must say that I thought CG was going to nerf Darth Vader once it came out how effective he was versus GL's back in the day. I am surprised it took CG this long to do it. I definitely am disappointed in the nerfs to JKL, GAS, and Wat. I think Wat's weapon tech deserves a rework and not just a nerf.

for my JML team, the JMK counter using JML lead with GS feels more consistent now tbh thanks to doing less dmg. and JKL feels way stronger now imo. but yeah havent tested vader or GS yet

I unlocked GAS, just in time for them to nerf him into oblivion, thanks CG... and I love to use Vader, was really excited to almost have 7 star Watt. It's like every reason I have to play the game is getting punted down some stairs.

My exact same situation. I almost retired right before they buffed vader, so I came back. Then i paired him with watt and it was fun again. Then I farmed gas lol

Something to also think about, they f****** nerfed Wat WHILE Dark Side Geo is up. He’s literally needed for a mission and significantly helps out in the TB in general.
