Why post offices in India do not accept deposits to these schemes on online. The most irritating factor is the staff in post offices and their timings and rigid policies.

I reached 13:29 to post office. I had to wait for 30 minutes to collect my check, staff were in lunch . Frustrating . Also it took 3 weeks to issue a check if 14.5 lakhs , loss of interest/ undue delay

First of all in post office there are no fixed deposit. It been known as Time Deposit. For Monthly Income Scheme previously individual limit was 4.5 Lac not 4 Lac.

Govt to consider to make changes in lot of areas on par with banks, viz., 1. RTGS/NEFT 2. RD accounts should be for 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months,..... 5 years, 6 years, as per the interests of the public. 3. The RD monthly deposit should be taken from the post office SB a/c instead of visiting personally for making deposits. This exists in Banks. 4. Time deposit intersts should be paid once in 3 months throusg sb a/c., whoever asks. 5. Small loans should be provided on the deposits. 6. Working of post office should be like almost banks. If all the above facilities are provided, it will be useful to the public.
