The tool is definitely helpful, but as in many cases of excessive monkeying with post the end result is not better than the original.

We like the idea that post-processing is a way to improve the outcome from the raw render and to have the flexibility to fix issues in the images and accommodate the clients comments with no need to recalculate the image again. I agree with you on the fact that sometimes the image can result less realistic but that in my opinion is a matter of sensitivity from the Artist. I think that having those new tools directly into the VFB are very helpful. Photoshop has never been capable to work with 32bit files and this removes all the benefits on working with such amount of data unless you work with Nuke or Fusion. Thanks for your comments!
