These interviews are brutal. They know how bad there doing, but guess what it's okay, and if they don't have a drastic turn around it's okay, it's hockey at a professional level with other teams that are just as skilled and in minutes the tone of a game can change. They need fans to rally and show support even if they lose. They need some humor! They need shoresy there at the practices or behind the bench to get some laughs and to be able to enjoy the game again and make light of a loss because you'll never get over losing. It sucks to suck, but it's worse when background noise of people are adding to it.

The goal scoring will come because the chances are there.. The problem plaguing this team right now is 1) Out of position defensive players (it's horrendous to watch!). 2) The lack of effort back checking. 3) The goaltending needs to come up with a couple big saves each game and stop those 'soft' goals that they've been letting in. All these things are killing this team and the confidence of the players.

The lack of effort backchecking has been a problem with the Oilers for the entire era this version of Edmonton Oilers has existed, if they haven't figured out that they need to do better at it by now...and they clearly haven't...they are not going to figure it out. While I feel bad for him, the first goal was his guy. He's gotta recognize that Holloway is overloaded (can't cover both the point and in front) and take a couple steps to get to that guy in the slot. Similarly with Kane on the 2nd, and Nurse with a bad turnover in the 3rd. That's 3 mental/effort errors that cost them 3 goals. They stop doing that, and it won't matter they're only getting a couple goals a game. They'll still be getting wins.

This is not a systems issue. It’s a systemic issue. There is definitely a split in that dressing room. Guys aren’t playing for each other. The goalies blame the defense. The defence blames the offense. The whole team blames the goalies. I’ve never seen such a disjointed team in my life. I have a feeling that the only way to fix it is to trade the core players out and start anew. Get rid of McD, Drai, Nurse and then get a bunch of hard working skilled guys and goalies. The avs sucked before they won the cup the other year. They had a really slow start but ended up taking it all. When st louis won the cup few years back they were dead last at 31/31. They came back and took it all. Its a matter of 3 wins. This team can get 6 points and get near the play off mark. Its not out of control yet. Long season ahead and i dont see this lasting forever. Leon’s far more versatile, rounded & rugged…better value. Trade McD…I watched them prematurely dismantle the greatest team in NHL history, having an ‘80’s Dynasty season ticket. This time, get the proper balance in the trade, securing the future, along with our current needs. RNH also needs to go, TOO SOFT in the playoffs, totally disappearing, 3 straight post seasons. His marketability should be at its highest, after last season’s 104 point session. Darnell Nurse is another overpaid asset. Considering his contract, that’ll be a tougher challenge, but doable in the right package deal. Campbell should be thrown in the housecleaning. Legitimate, proven net-minding & Messier-like leadership, should be targeted. The blueline & quality foot soldiers, are yet another concern. That’s just a start, but all the fanboy’s & pom-pom princess’s could NEVER fathom this, including ownership & mismanagement, looking in the proverbial mirror! Parking my own fanboy dreams during my 20’s, when #99 was traded, I’ve seen it all, with this team. Back to sleep 💤 OIL. 🇨🇦
