This is so underrated it's crazy. It's not just 2 protagonists killing a gazillion people in 12 minutes, they're 2 normal guys trying to make it out alive. That they take a break and go to sleep adds up to that aswell, also grabbing his gun in fear a zombie might come through, and that you can't do a backflip to reach your gun in time like in an ordinary animation

God I fucking adore the gritty realism of all of this. The two of them actually being frightened of the zombies and trying to avoid conflict as much as possible, Rising dread and realization of the gunshot alerting all the other zombies, Sledgehammer getting stuck in a zombie and the Golem having to leave it behind, Golem punching the armored zombie and holding his hand in pain cause he just punched metal, The two of them growing increasingly exhausted and desperate as time goes on, Walking up the stairs actually slows them down a lot The obvious care the two of them have for each other, and the way the Golem just puts his hand on the Grunt's shoulder at the end just has so much fucking emotion put into it; just, carries such a feeling of "Hey, it's okay, we tried our best." Every fucking detail was immaculate. This was the first time I'd ever felt scared for protags in a Madness Animation

This is just AWESOME. Always wondered a cartoon surrounding the events of the Fall. The lovely dynamic of how the two protagonists interact with each other, considering MAGs are also used as servants. The scene where they slept gave them more.. what word do I call it.? Humanity, since they're both aren't overpowered OC's that can take on a whole horde of zeds. Just two everyday joes trying to make it out alive. Got a pile of stuff to say but this comment would turn into an essay. Just awesome.

Damn, I was mesmerized from the first minute, this is clearly different from the rest; The animation, direction and script are absolutely sober, the suspense moments work perfectly, the slow but HEAVY combat emphasizes what the world is like for the Low-Tier characters which makes it tremendously more tense and interesting. Each decision the characters make is loaded with logic and weight, both while being safe and in combat, the environments, although basic, are loaded with scale and fulfill their function very well, the chemistry and affection between the protagonists is palpable, beautiful animation ...consider me subscribed ♥♥♥

​@@anonexistentbeing yall have misconceptions. Remember, this is a what if based on project nexus. In the game we are revealed that zombies are NOT a virus. Instead, its the result of attempted immortality. Basically, you try to tie permanently a S3LF (a similar equivalent to soul in the madness universe, it's a long explanation so don't worry about it) to a grunt body, but instead of the body never losing the S3LF when they die and revive normally, the S3LF corrupts and stays inside the body. This causes zombies, which seems to have the ability to spread the "tying your S3LF to your body" bia bites. In the game, characters who are bitten can easily survive and keep living, that is until they die. When they die, their S3LF corrupts, and also becomes a zombo. It just so happens that bitting a neck is pretty lethal so instant infection usually comes with their bites. Mags simply are too strong to die to zeds, so they literally bully the undead. Also, bandits DON'T eat zeds, in the game we see that their only food source is literally garbage, as seen in the "interior city" level. Lastly, fun fact, zeds don't "die", they can just become immobile with enough damage sustained. Any attacks that paralyse them (such as column or brain damage) is enough to put them to the ground, but since the S3LF is tied to the bodies, they don't die.

The background and music make this feel so surreal, bleak and empty, like there is absolutely nothing left in the city to find but the dead and undead. This makes sense considering how long ago the fall of Nexus City was, and is exemplified in the very limited amount of provisions and weapons the two find.

The perfect amount of simplicity and complexity. Using the good old black and white style with lighter colors more then black giving madness 1-3 vibes. Even with the art style being very simple, the care and effort each moment has with our golem and grunt duo is perfect in showing that the art doesn’t have to be some over the top thing, it can be simple allowing for more effort on the story part.
