There’s an Igbo saying that “onu a di a gba aka a je be onu” not interpreting verbertim, it means in heated arguments, insults are should be expected. If I feel insulted, I’ll look for a greater insult for you. However, on the other hand, an Igbo saying says ‘iwe nwa nne a di a alu nu okpukpu’ again meaning anger between siblings is never bone deep. Not even skin deep but bone deep! So People call each other worse things during heated arguments in igboland or Nigeria or any culture for that matter & next minute all is forgiven. Wendy called her a crack head! So which is worse? If it was not true… then the truth is the truth and it could have been killed. Nneka, you called someone's mother a witch on an INTERNATIONAL network for a conversation that YOU DIDN'T HEAR, even though I'm not Nigerian, cursing someone's mother is a very bad thing here in Brazil, in the USA and I bet in any place in the world. Given that it has been proven that Lebe was trying to use Wendy for her own benefit, you were completely wrong in every way for simply taking Lebe at her word and going around trying to expose Wendy in the group and on television without even having a conversation with her beforehand. . You simply tried to tarnish your Nigerian co-star's reputation with racist and xenophobic stereotypes, on national television, and to the other co-stars who are known to be colorists. Wendy's mother did not deny the phone call, but she denied everything you accuse her of, and you have NO PROOF of what was said in the call other than Lebe's word, you started completely wrong with Wendy and I don't blame her for not wanting to be your friend, you have to be happy that she is cordial with you. This is all considering that you simply weren't a plant of production to end Wendy's character, considering that this season was basically about that (and Candance's too). Production just didn't expect the retaliation it received. I really think you have potential and I want to like you, but you're no victim in this situation with Wendy.

With that, it’s safe to assume the people on and operating the show are going to abide by American cultural norms. As such, as an American (Nigerian, black, white or otherwise) it is a safe bet to assume ain’t nobody extending a line of credit to somebody they don’t personally know. If she (Nneka) was standing on business she would’ve/should’ve/could’ve reached out to Dr. Wendy (woman to woman/ Igbo to Igbo) and ask her to be a character reference; in the same way anyone applying for a job would do. However, she didn’t. She got hired and because her belief was that Dr. Wendy snubbed her, she indirectly attacked her character and contributed to an already hostile work environment. Equally, it’s okay for her/any culture to have an issue with American culture. That doesn’t absolve Nneka of her actions (especially considering she’s American-born Nigerian).

It's so disappointing that Nneka wasn't more judicious in NOT allowing herself to be a pawn of production. She willingly called Wendy's mother a witch; which is a cultural betrayal of her Nigerian sister. She had enough going on with a prestigious career as an attorney, her businesses, and fertility efforts that she didn't stand on those merits. If someone attacked my mother there is no going back. Nneka should have been more smarter and things with Wendy and Nnneka would have been better. I think she let Messy Ashley spoil it for her with a bad first introduction for the show.

As an Igbo Nigerian woman, it would’ve been nice to see some representation but I’m actually really disappointed 🥴🥴🥴🥴she did not do Igbo Nigerians justice, in fact it’s the totally opposite. Ashley with her " I haven't known Deborah to lie ever". When she only met her in a mummy group recently so really how well did she know her? Plus the audio played clearly showed the opposite of what Deborah said and I guess the plotters forgot the accusation could be proven to be a lie and even with that Ashley still said she believed Deborah and at no time said to Candiace she was sorry for what her friend said.

So again, undergrad was like 20years ago. I cant remember names of all my roommates from undergrad and I lived with them for a period of time.

Two African girls on this interview don’t know their culture. The only way Nneka and Wendy can ever move forward is if Nneka apologizes to Wendy’s mom. And it probably needs to be a public apology. If she felt that Wendy’s mom disrespected her, then she should have sent her mom or her aunties after Wendy’s mom. We can disrespect our age group, we do not disrespect our elders.
