Matt, to make rebuilds more realistic, there is a setting in teams called conversations then turn it on so if a superstar is unhappy they can ask for a trade in a conversation. some other ones are if one of them wants a contract extension or to be a starter. It will give u a little notification thing to tell u that u have a convo. i hope you use this to make the rebuilds more fun. to avoid the crashing in the scenarios you can select all teams before simulating to the next season (at the end of the offseason) and then just re-select the one team you want to rebuild once you're in the calendar for the next season

Matt, I want to give you perspective on why this is a GREAT trade for us and not what the NBA media/fans that aren’t seeing the bigger picture are chalking it up as just a massive overpay ( from a Timberwolves fan): 1.) We already have our future (KAT, Ant, McDaniels, Nowell, Moore) adding rookies year after year won’t benefit our young core. Our future is NOW and building as we speak. 2.) What will benefit our young core (especially Ant) is relevancy and consistent playoff run and experience at the beginning of their careers. (Once in his prime, Ant will be hardened and ready to take off) 3.) More on the draft picks, the draft capital we gave up (‘23, ‘25, ‘26 swap especially) will surely fall into the early to late 20’s for the Jazz, which we are fine with. Also, we can still add young talent every other year so it’s not like we can’t find diamonds in the rough at those points. And, nobody in Minnesota cares about the 6th grader balling out on his AAU team right now. 4.) We still have great depth: Nowell (who just jumped up two rotation spots, also who the league NEEDS to take notice on, just wait if you haven’t), Kyle Anderson, Taurean Prince, Bryn Forbes (better 3pt% than Beasley for career for significantly less money), Naz Reid, Jordan McLaughlin, Wendell Moore.. plus have wiggle room to sign one or two more veterans with good character and work ethic. 5.) The one only Timberwolves fans understand: IF worst comes to worst and it’s a dumpster fire, we’re back in purgatory which we’ve been in for 95% of our franchises existence, so it would be nothing new to us. BUT, even if it doesn’t work, it opens up a KAT or Gobert trade where we can get easily get solid pieces and draft capital back. AND at the end of the day, Ant is driving the bus so a team being built around him is always in the cards. 6.) This will UNLOCK KAT and allow him to do everything that he is great at doing and being the Unicorn he is on offense. We will see the best version of KAT last year now that he’s not doing the dirty work which is what got him in foul trouble and caused his on-court antics (which yes, are annoying). 7.) Gobert will not be played off the floor in the playoffs with the Wolves. Unlike the Jazz, we have both length (shortest player being D’Lo at 6’4 and shortest wingspan being Ant at 6’9) and much better perimeter defenders than Utah ever had outside of maybe Royce O’Neale. Our perimeter defenders can stay in front of ball handlers much better than the Jazz defenders could, and they know how to and are willing to rotate whenever Gobert needs to stop to the rim after guarding a small ball lineup (which by the way we will eat alive on the boards of teams try it). Also, though D’Lo isn’t the best defender, he has excellent basketball IQ and all last season was the voice everyone heard on defense besides Pat Bev. D’Lo is also fairly decent at getting his hands in passing lanes with his 7’0 wingspan. 8.) More on D’Lo: If you go back and watch his clips from his time in Brooklyn with Jarret Allen, he was ELITE as the PnR ball handler and now has the #1 PPP PnR player last season in Gobert and the #1 PPP PnP player last season in KAT. D’Lo is going to thrive in the role he’s going to have next year. 9.) Lastly, on the money side of things: Yes Gobert is making a lot, yes we have 450 mil committed to our front court, BUT our ownership (A-Rod and Lore) are more than willing to go into the luxury tax if it means championship contending basketball. Plus, this happening tells D’Lo that he’s not going to be getting a max contract from us after this year, so he has the year to prove himself and think on if he wants to take the pay cut to stay on a team of this caliber, and if he doesn’t, replacing him will not be the hardest thing our front office staff has ever done at their former stops around the league.

Great points but it’s a massive overpay lol. Nothing changes that unless they win a championship. Gobert will help & they’ll win more games but the playoff concerns are real. KAT has underperformed in the playoffs, (numbers aren’t everything), & Gobert hasn’t done much in the playoffs either. This team come playoff time just doesn’t stack up to most of the top west teams. Especially when the rotations shorten.

@@apollo3847 I see what you’re saying for sure but on the point of it being an overpay, yes to people around the league it’s an overpay, but to the timberwolves and the timberwolves fans its really not. After being bad for so long we really have nothing to lose. KAT has underperformed but that’s because he had to do all the dirty work. I believe now that he has Gobert to anchor the defense, he’ll be his best self. Though, I really do hope he quits whining when calls and other things don’t go his way lol. The playoffs will be interesting to see cause that concern is there yes, but like I said, our perimeter defenders are MUCH better than Utah’s were. If we can contain paint penetration and rotate effectively (like we were able to last year) I don’t see the same thing happening to a Gobert lead defense

Cool AF to see Bolmaro get some play! And thanks for answering me back on Twitter! But gonna say, as a Wolves fan.. I would take this 100%. A Chip, a 1 seed and another finals appearance, and the Jazz would need to do multiple unrealistic things like trade for pick 2, get pick 1 from a LAL trade and have Giannis sign with them all while having Ant and KAT leave Minny. And even with ALL those super unrealistic moves the Jazz only get 1 title in the decade. If that happened IRL, that would be a win for the Wolves, because you know they are not letting Ant go anywhere, even if they trade KAT. Good video though man! Really enjoying your content, and you play all teams fairly unlike some other clearly biased creators out there. Thanks for all the hard work!

You should really start adjusting your strategy against the teams in the playoffs if you lose a game or two, can say how you want your team to guard certain players that’s putting up big numbers and can put your best defender on him, it’s helped me win titles a ton.
