Post trip KLR 650 Maintenance day

*This is not a "how to", simply a "what I did" video*
After the trip it was time for some KLR TLC :) Out back for a wash, oil change, air filter clean, new rear tire and chain clean and adjust. Just like a new bike lol.
I will update my findings on the V-Rubber tire in a later vid.

So just a few questions. The Oil filter cover. Does Kawasaki want the tuner seal replaced during the oil change? Also do you use a new drain plug washer every time? I like the idea of the magnet. They use them on a lot of new cars

+Piston Slap tuner seal? Not sure what that is robert, sorry. I dont replace the crush washer every time but its likely a good idea. I just keep an eye on it for leaks and change the washer every other time.. ish ;)

Any 10w 40 mineral JASO rated oil is fine

Only ever used WD 40. 28 years on the street and never a failure. Cheers!

I also use wd 40 but have a hard time to clean all the grease and dirt. Do you use any special lube for offroad? THank you!

No, all i use is WD and spray the chain and give it a wipe after every day of use. The sand and dirt from riding off road combined with a thick lube or paste becomes a cutting compound so WD keeps it clean and its dry when you head out next time. I know a lot of guys disagree but I have had great luck with it. Doesnt fling either ;)
